Disappointed overall. this place does have a good foundation. I really wanted to like it but TLDR: mediocre food and inconsistent service (our least favorite part)
First, food: we tried two starters and two mains. They seemed fresh, but we expected more interesting flavors and creativity given the reviews and pictures we saw online, but the food just generally tasted…mediocre, they sure didn’t taste bad or anything but didn’t have interesting flavors that make your feel “wow”!
Then the service - it’s so inconsistent that we felt ignored and judged by two waitresses but then warmly welcomed by two other waiters. And yes, had to go through a few waiters/waitresses to figure out where we could sit and ordered food. 🥲 bit chaotic.
The overall experience was not great for us. We expected a lot more given this place promotes local, sustainability etc. And the space is beautifully designed. But we had far better over all experience in Bordeaux elsewhere. To be honest, the inconsistent service we experienced really brought the overall score...
Read moreOriginally we were going to go here for dinner, until we realised it is not open at night! I advise to book as it seems to be always busy. So we went the next day for lunch instead. They do a menu del dia and you can have two or three courses. Entree and main or entree and dessert or all three. Fabulous, fresh food and a very busy restaurant too. We shared the tomato tartare and then I had the white bean falafels and my husband had the pork shoulder confit. The food was stunning. So very, very fresh and tasty. Good servings and the food is different as a lot of places do the same things and it becomes boring. Not here. We finished by sharing a muffin, which had licorice basil! The staff were delightful, friendly and explained the menu and how it worked. Worth making...
Read moreI had an absolutely delicious dinner here, made with fresh seasonal ingredients. The staff were friendly and managed to be attentive even though they were very busy. The menu is relatively small (3 options per course) but I had no trouble finding something I wanted to try. There are vegetarian options - my starter of beetroot and sucrine was delicious. I chose the duck breast and it was served very rare and was quite difficult to cut because it was very close to raw - I usually prefer meat cooked rare but this was ‘bleu’. I am sure I could easily have asked them to cook it more and it would not have been a problem. Excellent wine, as expected for Bordeaux!...
