Le Petit Bois — Restaurant in Bordeaux

So disappointed with service here. We walked in and no one was on the door but we could see people going upstairs so we followed to try get a seat. A waiter stopped us on the stairs to ask where we were going and so I said politely that we would like a table ... he went off and gave us a number to give to his 'colleague upstairs'. We go upstairs and the colleague behind the bar abruptly shows us a choice of two tables so we sit and are given menus. We wait ... and wait ..perhaps ten minutes. We notice others arriving and being served so after a further 5 mins I go to the bar and ask nicely if I can order a couple of drinks please... he says yes and proceeds with something else without so much as a sorry , give me a minute or I will send someone over. We wait another few minutes and then leave. Bad timing I'm guessing but I can't help thinking it was because i was a single woman with her 12 year old son :( . Experienced it before but grateful we didn't stay another minute. Twenty minutes wasted whilst everywhere was getting busier. The place had come recommended but perhaps its best suited...

OK so First thing first. Vibe, décoration: Fairy Vintage Kinda thing, with Oaks trees and hanging flowers, random vintage pictures from the 60' to 90', the seats/chairs looked somptuous, from the Victoria age and traditional occidental tapestry art.... Until you actually sit on it. You feel like your arse is being pierced with lots of spikes. NOT NICE AT ALL. The springs of the chair were all out up my bum, basically. Like a very old, emaciated bed.

The food was nice. I took the Foie Gras Toast which was delicious. Would have put 5 stars if it wasn't for the HORRIBLE chair I had to be tortured on.

The waiters were adorable. Service was nice.

Toilets was kinda of blocked the night we was on...

Walking past and thought we would stop for a wine. Very hospitable young man went through the wines available by the glass . Had a few recommended the decided to stay for dinner. Very glad we did . Great dinner for the price and excellent service. Strongly recommend if you want a nice night out in comfortable surroundings and above...
