An excellent wine bar with friendly staff. When I first in, didn't get a whole lot of attention but they were very crowded. The host later apologized for the delay as they a bit short staffed. No issues, I was browsing thru the wines, of which they have a lot, on the shelf.
You can get food too but I didn't order any as I already finished dinner. So went straight to the wine tasting! All their tasting wines are dispensed through a vending machine so self-serve if you like. The host first walked me all the wines, characteristics, region, etc. The wines are mostly Bordeaux or French (as you might expect) with 2-3 wines from other countries; there was one from Cali! After the walk-through they give you a card pre-loaded with some money, you insert the card in the slot for the wine you want and press the amount of wine you want. Repeat as necessary! Once done, they ring you up for whatever you used - I had about 5 tastings and it was just €12.
The wines themselves were ok, I'd say €20-30 a bottle range. They have a couple sets of cool looking lounge chairs, so I filled up the glass and sat on those chairs. They do have a lot more expensive wines if you are interested but those are done separately (I believe). The staff were very friendly, chatting with me, giving me tourist tips for Bordeaux, chateaus I should visit, etc.
Excellent experience,...
Read moreIf I were designing a wine bar, I would be basing it off Le Sobre Chartrons, with an incredible range of tapas style bites, plates and platters, wines by the glass self-served from the Enomatic machines or pick a bottle from their incredible array of wines (they present you with “the bible” wine menu).
Grab a card from the bar, help yourself to glasses served in tasting, small and regular sizes dispensed perfectly from the machine, pair with some food and enjoy the evening. When it’s time to pay simply present your card to the bar and they’ll calculate your bill - simple, easy and stylish. The staff were on hand to offer wine advice and guidance which was very much appreciated to navigate the local wines we had visited to try.
One dish you absolutely have to try is the Asparagus veloute. A cold creamy asparagus soup that was refreshing yet comforting and...

Yummy food : platters of cheese and or cured meats, croque monsieur with either pastrami, truffle ham or vegetarian, salmon gravelax (cured), etc. Desserts like pannacotta with red berries coulis.
Service was rather friendly, pretty quick prompt and good despite the wine bar being pretty busy, we’ve asked for more bread and water as it was hot and we devoted the yummy bread with the platters, good
