Le Créneau — Restaurant in Carcassonne

We had a lovely dinner this New Year with my wife at this charm and lovely restaurant inside Carcassone walls, that at the same time offers a good value for money relation as they have a daily menu consisting of 2 dishes and a dessert for only 19€ (in the main course you can order the famous cassoulette gourmande, so no excuses to taste it at a good price) but also very kind waiters (in comparison with other restaurants whose personnel were quite rude making honor to the french cold behaviour), even a young blonde funny waiter valued my effort to order her in my poor french and encouraged me to keep on trying, lovely. They have also a great outdoor terrace with views to the castle so we will come back in summer with the family to sit and relax with those amazing views. As a point of improvement: the onion soup was a little bit terrible, hot as burning coal, too big and raw pieces of onion inside and the cheese was melted within the hot water instead of making a crôute on the top, appart from this, everything was really fine,...

Firsty, the server received the wrong order despite him repeating/confirming the order. We received the tapas version of the order when the order was meant for the entree/plat. Thereafter, the waiter confirmed with his supervisor that they are unable to amend the order. To me, that is ridiculous.

Additionally, the waiter informed me that he would pass the plate to me across the table. However, before i held onto the plate, he released his grip on the plate and the hot plate scalded my finger whilst i tried to grasp hold of the sliding bowl on the plate.

Nothing wrong with the food honestly but the service needs serious considerations...

Nous sommes partis après l’entrée… cela ne m’est jamais arrivé ! Une attente comme je n’en ai jamais vu et surtout personne n’assume, ne vient nous voir et ne nous explique. Nous n’étions pas les seuls, la table derrière a attendu 2h pour se voir servir les plats (avec enfants et femme enceinte). De notre côté, après 1h d’attente on nous a enfin servi les entrées. 45 min plus tard nous n’avions toujours pas les plats… bref 2h en tout dans le restau pour n’avoir eu qu’une terrine de campagne. La serveuse (quand on ne lui laisse pas le choix que de nous expliquer car personne ne dit rien) nous explique que la cuisine fait n’importe quoi et oublie des plats et que ce n’est pas de sa faute. Impossible de nous dire quand on sera servis… on décide de partir, tanpis on finira avec un sandwich dans les rue de Carcassonne. Et quand on va pour payer le responsable veut nous faire payer 10€ la petite terrine du jour sur sa feuille de salade! Un scandale ! Et pas de remise pour les 2h d’attente alors que nous n’avons toujours pas mangé nos plats qui ne sont jamais arrivés ! et on nous dit gentiment « c’est les vacances être 2h au restaurant moi j’adore vous devriez vous détendre ». Juste après nous avoir sorti une nouvelle excuse pour le retard : le four a cassé… vu qu’on a commandé un cassoulet on voit la logique… Quand un problème survient messieurs la moindre des choses et de prendre le temps d’expliquer à la clientèle, on peut aussi comprendre, de proposer un geste commercial et de tout faire pour que l’attente reste agréable plutôt que de fuir! A éviter ! Sauf si le personnel...
