The most disappointing evening of our time away. We had high hopes based on the reviews (and also because you could select to make a reservation in English). When we arrived at the restaurant we were cramped into a corner with all the tables close together (and only half of the restaurant being used). Service quickly because disinterested in us due to our limited French (no English menu available and staff didn't speak English). And both waiters spent considerable time on their mobile phones. Thankfully I had translated the menu ahead of time so we were easily able to order. The cassoulet and rabbit were tasty. A quick escape at the end of those dishes - no point indulging in a dessert in a restaurant that doesn't welcome us. I did laugh this morning when I received an email in English from the restaurant asking what I thought!

Love, love this place!! We needed a reservation on a Saturday night so nearly missed out - they let us sit at the bar and we had a super time. Really reasonably priced and great food. Super friendly staff, and fascinating watching the chefs in the kitchen who worked hard all night. We had a tempura asparagus starter, then the steak and lamb leg. All superb, and little details like getting a very sharp knife to cut the meat with really help enjoying every moment. The chips also were great - crispy, moist and sweet. Yum! Finally, the house rosé was a wonder. In sum, great value, worth booking. Plan your visit soon!! (Note - like a lot of places in Carcassonne, they are closed Sunday so don’t be caught out!).

Very disappointing meal. The rabbit terrine starter was the dried up end which most restaurants cut off and do not serve to diners. The grilled rabbit was raw and tasteless and the chips with it a disgrace . The cassoulet was tasty but dried up and burned on top as far as too long waiting in the oven. Service was dreadfully slow. We were told no bread was available when we stared meal but would come in 5 minutes. 30 minutes later after being given 2 dried bits of old bread we were given fresh- which was burnt black. See photos. Staff were working g hard but the kitchen clearly couldn't cope with the large number of tables set up outside.

I’m not one to leave a bad review, but this was such a disappointing meal. We managed to get a table easily but felt ignored for a while before someone came to take our order. We ordered the sausage, truffle and potato salad and the grilled rabbit with chips. The rabbit was an interesting cut with only half being edible as the rest was very tough so much so that we left it on the plate. Fries were passable but nothing I would pay over €4 for (a portion of fries alone was about €6.50 on the menu - YIKES!) the sausage dish was fine, although there was plastic wrap on the rim of the plate which made me question the freshness of the meal- other than that it was quite tasty, however for €17.90, I was expecting a bit more.

There was a slight language barrier, but the female with curly hair really did her best to help us- after seeing half the rabbit not eaten, I thought she was asking if I was done, but about 10 mins later she came back with another piece of meat and fries- so clearly she suspected it wasnt to their standards. By that point we were done and just wanted to leave, but she was really lovely and tried her best!

Overall its a shame- they seem understaffed and overwhelmed for the number of covers they had on this particular Friday evening. Very sorry to leave such...

We waited 45 minutes just to get a portion of foie gras. Once we got it we noticed a piece of plastic, we assume the wrapper got in our plate. We said to the waiter that they might forgot the wrapper and he said:"no this how it is supposed to be." After a minute we heard the waiter say in french to his colleague in the kitchen "their was a problem with the foie gras, you forgot the wrapper". It took 2 hours to just get an entry and a main dish. There were multiple other clients that came at least half an hour after us in the restaurant, took a main dish and dessert and left before we received our main dish. When we eventually paid our bill, the waiter asked if everything alright. When we address the issues she just said: I'm alone, which she wasn't.

Would definitely not recommend this place if you want to have a nice evening. Food itself...
