This restaurant is to be avoided. The experience we had yesterday for lunch was preposterous. We came for a later lunch since we were riding bikes (around 14:30h). The waiter did not bother to take our orders for a while, even though the restaurant was not full. We did not mind as we understand the heat may impact his service. Once the waiter took our orders and gave us our drinks, he demanded to take a chair away from our table. We were using it to hold our motorcycle helmets. He stated the chair had to be back at the other table as another customer is waiting. He returned the chair to a table that had one person eating. The person was alone, he did not need the chair. The pizza we received was not the greatest as the vegetables on top were cold. Not to mention how uncomfortably we were eating clenching our helmets between our legs. As soon as I put my cutlery on the plate the waiter, visibly irritated, snatched our plates away and asked if we wanted anything else. We asked for the bill and after inspecting it we noticed they put a cover charge. The cover charge was put there just for sitting in the restaurant. A half-empty restaurant with terrible-mannered waiters. I do not recommend this...

We were eating at this reastaurant today (Feb 9) and the place got packes completely for lunch. We received the starter within 5 minutes but had to wait for the main course 1 hour. The lady eating with me had a very nice salad with walnuts and roquefort - very nice but too much of the cheese! I had a beef carpaccio which would have been delicious, but on top they spread some pesto and this pesto dominated the taste of everything - why did they do this? I never saw a pesto on top of a carpaccio? So the cook, who would have received 5 stars, just destroyed the whole taste. Then we had the filet de truite - nice and tasty and a good portion, and I had a pizza fruit de mer and - damned!!!! - again the pizaa was very delicious, if they would not have put another load of the same pesto on top of it. Hey there: Is your chef related to a pesto factory????? It's a pity, because the rest of the food was really delicious, even the dessert. And even if the place was packed the service was very friendly and professional, a little bit overwhelmed, but always smiling. I might perhaps come back, but will then speak with the service people and explain to them: NO...

I stopped at La Taverne in Place Marcel Sauvaire, initially for a Café espresso after my ride through the local gorge. I liked the ambience and the view so I decided to stay for lunch. The menu is extensive with many choices, including 17 different pizza options. I chose the Spéciale. It was too much for me, so I only ate half, and they wrapped the other half in alfoil for me I recommend trying the spicy piment cardomame oil on your pizza. I then had a dessert. The dessert menu also has many options. I decided on the Sodade du cap vert. It was delicious. My waiter Tiago was patient with me due to my poor French pronunciation and brought me an Anglais menu, and spoke in English with me. He was attentive, but not...
