Le Fournil du Verdon — Restaurant in Castellane

i am really surprised by the bad reviews of the place.We are not locals( we come from Germany).I can only recommend the restaurant since we go there only in the afternoon to eat pizza.this is the third year in a raw that we visit this restaurant. We find the Pizza absolutely fantastic and delicious.The drinks too. Reasonable prices. The staff is the same that serves in the morning in the Backery.They are very polite and by no means rude!!! very welcoming and with humour. The place is always full and i think this happens for a reason....yes a small delay is always acceptable in a crowded place.We paid by cash all of the times.This place is so good we don't want to risk eating somewhere else. PS:my wife used the toilet(answering a comment about the toilet) edited: The only frustrating thing is that after 5 years visiting the place, they still don't accept card payments. I used to eat only in the square and we found this place by accident as we were in a large group of motorcyclists and needed a big table. The staff were very funny and friendly and the food was fantastic. I will definitely be back. The little terrace out the back was great as it was away from the traffic and felt less touristic. It was quite obvious by the way we were treated and the comments in French (which they thought I couldn’t understand apparently), between what appeared to be the manageress and the girls behind the counter, that English people were not welcome.
