Discriminative Attitude.
I will give a background of my food/ travel experiences as I was brutally judged by the manager and publicly disrespected.
I'm travelling as a tourist and have been to 31 countries, due to my extensive travel I have had the pleasure of visiting many Michelin star restaurants around the world including London, Hong Kong and the famous Narisawa in Tokyo Japan.
Entering this restaurant I was not particularly hungry therefore did not order much, however the food was quite filling and am happy from that front.
My complaint comes from one of the veal dishes in which I had, it was rather sickly and not of any great taste; sweet or savoury. After eating 1/3 of the dish in an attempt to enjoy it I complained to the waiter and asked for the bill (as I felt too sick to eat anything else).
The staff did not ask why I did not like the dish, nor apologise or convey any sort of emotion to show they cared. They did however bring a complimentary dessert in what I can only assume was an act of kindness; I say assume as the dessert was slammed onto the table with no explanation whatsoever. I of course still feeling sick from the previous meal did not eat this and kindly asked for the bill again.
As a finally paid for all the dishes I ate, or partially ate (which I made no complaint of), I walked downstairs to receive my jacket and leave.
I mentioned to the woman at the front that I did not enjoy the food as no one had asked me and she blamed my lack of understanding of the dish. She also said anyone who does not order wine at a restaurant like this nor orders more than a few plates does not belong here. I mentioned my love for food and how I have been to restaurants around the world and she laughed this comment off. I also said if I do not drink alcohol because of religious reasons, does that make me wrong? She continued to argue saying I did not understand the dish and that I was out of place.
I have to say I felt quite offended and discriminated against. This restaurant does not deserve its stars nor any...
Read moreI made a reservation for dinner for one, and was told by the owner himself I am not allowed to see the wine list. He pushed for a reason I need to see it. Obviously to order wine? He chucked softly and repeated I can not see the wine list. I thought it was a joke, but he was completely serious. Appalling.
I should mention I was wearing a T-shirt from my previous employer at a 3 Michelin Star restaurant in NYC. Perhaps he didn’t know the establishment, which is fine, but the idea that camaraderie between fine-dining restaurants that should exist simply does not here is a little off-putting.
I was willing to spend a lot of money here for a true fine-dining experience, something I try to do in every city I visit. But according to ownership I was not allowed to. Not quite “hospitality”. For the price point you’d think to be treated a little better. Sadly, not.

Edit: as I said, I made a reservation at the bar, after politely waiting for his wife to address me. I did not interrupt, and the reservation was booked swiftly without hesitation. This was not the problem. She was very gracious and kind.
Following the booking, he had refused to show me the wine list. Whether or not I worked in any fine dining isn’t what’s relevant, it’s just shocking that someone would treat ANY guest this way, let alone one from their own industry. In actuality, most wine lists are posted online for guests, including the one in NY he is claiming would be too pretentious to show it. You can easily google that list.
Perhaps there was a misunderstanding and he thought there was no reservation booked. Even if, in his own words, he won’t show me a wine list because he doubts I’m going to book and stay for dinner? Is this...

The 2 stars were due to poor service during our dinner. The menu was only in French and the waiter did not proactively explain/translate it. Usually the waiter will briefly go through the menu ,but in our case the menu was jus5 givento us without any introduction. It took us quite a while to kind of figure out the menu using Google Translate. The waiter and waitress just stood near the wall chatting like it's none of their business. Again, I have never seen any other Michelin starred restaurants do this. Even we asked for him to explain he just wouldn't say it and have one word answers. We had to asked him like "is this fish?", "is this scallop?", etc. He wouldn't explain what exactly was in each course. At first I thought maybe he didn't speak English very well but later, found out he actually spoke Englisg quite well.
Also there was a witness who has a very unfriendly attitude. She was very cold as if she personally hated us, and spoke to us quite rudely. For example, "if you don't eat it, I will take away." Also no one ever asked us how everything is after each course.
In terms of the food, the bread was excellent. The starter of sturgeon with caviar was excellent. However, the scallop main course was bad. I did not know there will be Japanese soba (buckwheat noodle) with wakame under plainly cooked scallops. Everything was the same texture, very one note. Then scallop wasn't even seared. It was a huge...
