La Kilbe — Restaurant in Colmar-Ribeauvillé

We had the bone marrow and steak tartar for our Appetisers. Absolutely stunning…… The best I’ve ever had! For my main dish the waiter recommended the burger which I thought an odd recommendation. Usually at restaurants the burger is an add-on for those who don’t want something expensive or are not up to eating The local cuisine.

I have eaten many many burgers all over the world in search of the best one. I have only found one burger that compares to this. It was in America. This one is a totally different style to the american burger but just as amazing and a more rich taste! The beef was perfectly cooked and full of flavour. The bun to meat ratio was absolutely perfect and all the condiments and sauces that came on the burger were to die for! The bun was fresh, soft, and delicious. So I would say this burger is tied for the best burger I have had...

It was recommended to make a reservation, but upon our arrival, there was almost no one there. Our reservation was for 1900 and we left close to 2100. By the time we left all but two tables were taken.

The menu was well appointed and they had daily specials.

The waiters spoke English and were pleasant.

Seating was seemingly all outside and we were able to secure a table for two. The spot near the corner was quite nice. The noise from the street however was quite oppressive.

We decided to pay in Euros, but they did offer us the option to pay with credit card. I did not ask which ones they do and don't accept.

They had a good selection of wines and the bottle that we bought to accompany dinner was excellent. It was €90, so this throws off our per-person costs as dinner was...

Great experience! We arrived later than the time of the reservation (towards the closing of the kitchen), yet they accommodated us and were friendly in the process. We ordered a beer and a cider (the cider is artisanal and a must-try) and 2 burgers with fries. They were fantastic! Probably the best burger bun I have ever had and the meat was perfectly cooked. The fries were delicious, million years away from the usual 'frozen straight out of a bag' fries. The staff was great and we had a small chat with one of the employees, who was super nice and friendly. Overall, great...
