A racist place with poor manners, let alone service and hospitality. On 25th July, I along with my parents went to this restaurant around 9:15 pm. We asked the waiter for a table of three and were asked to wait while he changes the table cloth. He changed the paper cloth and when we were about to sit we realised the cloth underneath was very soiled with food. So we politely requested for it to be changed. To which he mumbled picked up the cloth and dusted it on our faces while continuing to mutter. Then immediately to our disbelief started a conversation with the table right behind us. We sat, started to read the menu and for about 7-8 mins he continued to have a loud conversation with the table behind us and we soon found ourselves to have an audience in the two people who were seated and Ofcourse the waiter. They were literally having a conversation looking at us! By this time it wasn’t even discreet. They were sniggering, having a laugh and being rather clear that the waiter and the two customers were talking, making fun, being as racist as one can be in a France. We told him, we don’t want to eat and tried to get up and walk away, to which the waiter shouted, ‘ go.. go to mcdonalds’! I don’t know how your food is La Romantica, but I know your service is not only poor, it has a racist staff and has definitely left a very very poor impression on us of your culture and hospitality. Thankfully we went to La Maison Rouge afterwards and the night was saved by great food and service alike. Overall, I suggest you either educate your staff...
Read moreWe went here to try a local dish my wife wanted. We were at the Christmas market all afternoon and I wasn't the least bit hungry. We were very surprised to learn that sharing a dish was not allowed. I should have left right there but ordered a pizza to not upset my wife since she picked the restaurant. Unfortunately, I couldn't hide my annoyance at this extortion and wanted to just get out of there and cut our losses. Getting the bill and the boxes for our substantial leftovers took over 20 minutes as we were repeatedly ignored and I was seriously considering getting up to leave to see if that would finally get their attention. By the time we finally were let out of there, my Christmas spirit was gone and we went right to the room where we hope to have better luck in Strasbourg tomorrow. The food was ok but it was not worth writing home about. Prices were also somewhat high.
I could deal with an unforseen no sharing policy like this, but when the bartender has to run to the kitchen to take care of us because the waitress pretends not to hear me or refuses to make eye contact to at least tell me she's busy, that's a...
Read moreI came here with my friends and had an extremely unpleasant experience. This restaurant was the only place with free outside seating and not only was our table stolen by other customers - twice - in front of the waitress who did nothing, but we were treated appallingly just to be served very disappointing food. The staff did not have our backs, talked to us rudely when we sat down to finally secure our spot as she was clearing up, and even threw our menus onto the table. This unprofessional behaviour continued until she realised I spoke fluent French, at which point her attitude shifted. By that time, however, we felt unwelcome and left the restaurant after our meal hungry and upset. To the owner reading this, please train your staff to treat customers with respect. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, particularly to those who are not...
