BISTROT GOURMAND — Restaurant in Colmar-Ribeauvillé

I wanted to share a not-so-happy experience we recently had at this Bistrot in Colmar. My family and I entered with our little 8-month-old baby and noticed plenty of free tables. Excitedly, we sat down and asked a waitress if it was alright to sit there, to which she agreed.

But when another waitress arrived ( the one with a spanish accent) she was incredibly impolite, lacking any form of customer service skills. She sharply stated, "It doesn't work like this, you have to move into the other room," all with a rude tone. 🙅‍♀️

Adding to our disappointment, the tables were unclean with leftover food scattered around, and flies buzzing everywhere. This was the final straw for us, and we made the decision to leave.

There are plenty of fantastic restaurants and brasseries in Colmar worth exploring, so my advice would be to avoid wasting your precious time with this particular establishment. It was evident that they simply didn't want to...

Not a great experience. We came for brunch and found the place mostly empty — yet we were told we could only sit at a small, uncomfortable table because we didn’t have a reservation. We also weren’t offered the brunch menu, which was apparently “only for reserved guests,” even though the restaurant stayed mostly empty during our nearly two-hour visit.

What felt especially disappointing was seeing other guests — who also didn’t seem to have reservations — being warmly welcomed and seated at the best tables. The contrast in how people were treated didn’t feel fair or consistent.

Service overall was distant and not very accommodating. Our order had mistakes, the food was just okay, and prices were higher than expected.

Unfortunately, the whole visit left us with a sense that some guests are treated more favorably than others — and that’s not the kind of feeling you want to leave with...

I tried to go to eat here this morning because of the good reviews. There were lots of available tables and NONE had the reserved sign on them, a table was just leaving. Nonetheless I, my wife and our son were turned down. The first waitress directed us to another one to give us the table and it just took her one glance at my little kid to tell us, in the most brutal way possible they were all booked up for today and we had to leave because we were crowding the space. When I asked her to give us a time to book she said it was not possible. I don't know why they behaved so horribly. Very cold and detached....
