Le Goût Thé Antibes (New Ownership) — Restaurant in Grasse

I normally don't write reviews unless my experience was exceptional or awful. In this case in was the later. It was an unfriendly welcome from the start (and I speak fluent French being born and raised in Canada so language barrier wasn't the issue). I wanted a tea and my friend ordered an espresso. When we asked if they had honey or brown sugar they acted as if we insulted them. We thought, no worries white sugar will do. They asked if we wanted them to go or we would be staying. We said to go please. She handed the two to go cups without any lids. I inquired about lids they said they didn't have any. This was not an issue for my friend because she would be able to finish her espresso in no time. I, however, had a large piping hot cup of tea (which tasted average I might add) and I didn't want to risk burning myself trying to walk to cobble streets of Antibes without a lid. So we decided to sit to drink a bit of our hot drinks while they cooled down a bit. As soon as we sat down, the girl came up to us and told us we had to leave because we asked for to go cups and therefore we were not allowed to sit. I must mention there was only ONE other couple sitting in the entire establishment so it's not because it was packed in there and they needed our table. I looked at her in complete disbelief and she confused this for me not understanding what she was saying and so she repeated herself. Even though I protested she didn't move from our table until we got up to leave, so we left. To sum it up, there are a lot of other great options in Antibes with better service, coffee/tea & food (ie NOMADS coffee not too far). Una stella, ma sarebbe sotto lo zero...entriamo in 2 per consumare chiedendo, nel frattempo, dove fosse la toilette, veniamo aggrediti dalla proprietaria che risponde che prima dobbiamo ordinare al tavolo ed entrambi ( il tutto lo dice in francese, facendo finta di non capire l' inglese...) Fatta l' ordinazione ( prendiamo entrambi da bere), il cameriere ci comunica che possiamo andare in bagno. Dopo qualche minuto, ci viene servito anche da mangiare una omelette, noi, intimiditi, crediamo sia obbligatorio, visto come ci avevano aggrediti all' arrivo, per chi si sedesse al tavolo.... Colpa nostra, ovviamente, che non abbiamo avuto il coraggio di dire che non avevamo ordinato da mangiare.... allora, altra intemerata della proprietaria che avremmo dovuto pagare il tutto. A nulla è valso il tentativo di fare capire che naturalmente avremmo pagato tutto e credevamo fosse obbligatorio anche mangiare ( invece avevano sbagliato tavolo.... benché fossero solo 5 o 6 i tavoli ). Il tutto, ribadisco, con lo staff e la proprietaria che si ostinavano a parlare solo francese ) Comunque la colpa maggiore è la nostra perché non siamo scappati appena arrivati..... credo vadano avanti perché Antibes è una località deliziosa e c'è molta selvaggina di passo ( che saremmo noi, turisti sprovveduti). P.S. Google metta anche la possibilità di mettere almeno zero stelle...se...

On est venue, on avait pas réservé on nous a fait comprendre qu'il fallait réserver. On nous a pris mais les patrons ne sont pas chaleureux ni agréables. Un peu froid, ils nous ont reproché la non réservation jusqu'à la fin du repas. Ils étaient a priori débordés mais on a pas vu tant de clients que celà. J'ai osé demandé comme je suis intolérant au lactose de changer mon fromage blanc contre des oeufs. C'était non ! Non ce n'est pas possible trop compliqué nous sommes débordés. Très bien. J'accepte mais je pense pas être le seul dans ce cas entre végétarien végétalien, .... Un peu de souplesse c'est apprécié mais j'ai accepté j'assume. Le brunch salé est beaucoup plus copieux que le sucré. Un cinquième de banane c'est un peu économe. Les chocolats chauds sont excellents. On a demandé quel était le gâteau qui allait avec avant de commander on nous a répondu je ne sais pas. On a pas eu de réponses avant d'avoir été servi :/ c'était un cheeze cake, je ne le savais pas pour rappel je suis intolérant au lait. C'est quand même l'ingrédient principal. Tous les convives l'ayant goûté ne l'ont pas fini ils ne l'ont trouvé pas bon. Cependant les gens qui ont mangé salé ont tous apprécié et ont reconnu être calés. Tous les convives ont admis ne plus jamais y retourner en cause l'accueil...
