I like Le Pigeonnier. I’ve only been twice, but both times the food was good, the service friendly and timely, and the atmosphere lovely (this means we ate outside in one of Vence’s pretty little squares). At the recent visit, my starter was courgette flowers stuffed with crab mousse – miot unusual – and for desert I had the always-reliable and enjoyable café gourmand (see photos).
Update: the above was in 2024. This is after our third visit, summer 2025: I have the impression that this retaurant has changed a bit. It is bigger, for a start. The food seems a bit "safer" and more "mass market". Smacks of greed over any concern...
Read moreAttentive staff that speaks some English. Food looks better than it tastes, the risotto was a bit bland but at least salt and pepper was on the table. The stuffed zucchini flower was also fishy. I was not presented what the cocktail of the day was, but gambled to try it. As the raspberry and mint leaves on the cocktail were dusted with sugar, my nose was covered in white powder after drinking it😂 but the assortment of cakes to pair with the espresso is highly...
