Pépite — Restaurant in Grasse

I would like to share with you experience at your restaurant from one week ago.

To begin with, I must say that the waiter who served us at the beginning was nice and helpful.

We were a group of 7 together with children.

The problem arose right after we waited over an hour for the food after the drinks.... If we hadn't alerted the waiter that we still didn't have food, we might have been forgotten. We were willing to wait, but no one warned us whether we would have to wait 20 minutes or an hour for the food.

What upset us the most was that the tables that came after us 20 minutes later got their food before us. When we were just starting to eat, they had already finished. It was not one table but 3 that we noticed. There were also tables where there was a group of 4-7 people at the table.

So the excuses of the waiters that there were fewer of them so they got the food earlier is not appropriate.

We also had a very simple meal and that was just pizza and pasta. Other tables had different types of more complex dishes.

After this time, we at least asked for a kind gesture in the form of a free drink or a discount. We were promised that at the end of the payment, we can expect something, which did not happen at all. Rather, they just blocked us with water that we didn't order and we didn't even get it on the table

I also don't know if you have fresh food because it is impossible that 10 minutes after eating I had cramps for more than 3 hours unless I took a pill and in the morning these problems continued. I had a pizza vegetarian. In the morning, a friend also contacted me that she also had these intestinal problems in the evening.

After all this, we at least expected them to greet us back when leaving. But we didn't get any reply.

This was the 3rd time I gave this restaurant a chance. Because as many times as we came, no one noticed us, no greeting, and people wait for 15 minutes to order

After this terrible situation yesterday, I don't know what to say and I would like to get an answer from the owner who owns this restaurant.

Since I haven't received any reply yet, I hope that at least this way I will help someone or at least the owner will want a reply...

We had dinner with 10 (of which 6 children) and really enjoyed our evening at Pépite. The reason for my review is also because I disagree with some of the reviews as it was much better than others have experienced. The restaurant is right next to the harbor and has an amazing view over the harbor and the 'castle' next to the harbor. In high season the personnel was friendly and welcoming. The kids menu was good (bunny shape pizza margherita) and ice cream 🍨 was enough. For the adults we had several drinks (Aperol Spritz, IPA from tap and white wines). Although there was some communication problems about the wines (they just served without telling what wines we got), they acknowledged this and corrected the bill. For a starter we shared the tapas with burrata and dried ham which was really good and tasty and enough for 4 persons. The salmon tartare with avocado was good quality, the entrecote limousine a bit too well done, the Dorade very good and the poke bowl had good taste. There was enough space on the parking in the harbor right next to the restaurant through some sort of long tunnel. Also a nice walk towards the restaurant to looks at a lot of luxury yachts and boats. The toilets were okay only one door couldn't lock and it was about 45 degrees in there, but still it was hygienic. All together a great restaurant during our stay in this beautiful...

Terrible experience here after coming for a dinner reservation. Seated by an uninterested member of staff, remembers to give us some menus after a while, we were all desperate for water but after 15 minutes of sitting, still no offer of drinks or even a glance in our direction. Our supposed waiter continued to greet and sit more people during this time. We tried to ask for some water but had a curt reply of ‘you have a waiter’ - if we did we had no idea who it was at that point!

After 20 minutes of nobody coming to our table from being seated we decided to leave. Yes the view is beautiful, but it’s not worth it for the service - we felt genuinely unwelcome which was a horrible experience. When we told the senior waiter why we were leaving he had no apology, reason, or even an understanding smile to offer - just said ‘well go then’ and we did quite happily! When you’re paying €17 for a salad you at least expect high quality service - sadly you won’t find this here.

We went onto enjoy a brilliant meal...
