I was really looking forward to this restaurant as it was highly recommended. But it was the biggest disappointment of our vacation in Cannes.
When ordering the food, we asked about the fish of the day. The server said it’s sea bass and it’s about 200 gr. We didn’t ask anything about the price or the size of the fish. We only asked if it’s too much for two people. The server said it’s okay to share. So we ordered some starters and side dishes. When the fish came, the server said it is 900 gram and €180. The server never mentioned before that the fish is 900 grams or didn’t inform about the price. Certainly we weren’t looking for the price. After arranging the first serving, the server said by herself that the fish was half cooked so she took it back to the kitchen. All this time, she never asked about our cooking preferences. We weren’t sure whether the first serving was cooked properly or not. While waiting for the other half to cook, the piece that was served already turned cold.
After we complained and said it was obviously a case of lost in translation and we weren’t informed properly, she said she specifically told it’s 900 gr for €180. When we complained to the manager, he just repeated what the server said. When we mentioned that the fish was uncooked, manager said it depends on the preference of the customer. But when the server took it back to the kitchen it was obviously not cooked properly so she decided by herself to take it back probably in order not to poison us.
The attitude was not nice, the manager got angry about our complaint and saying we don’t want to pay, he just ripped the dishes from in front of us and left. The side dishes were left on the table, but no one came to give at least a plate so we could at least eat those. Later the server came and said we told the manager she didn’t mention the price bit she did and whatever. We paid €59 for a bottle of still water, 2 glasses of wine and one starter.
We were just looking for a nice dinner in a nice place and instead left with a sour taste and hungry at 10:30pm. Such a shame for such a high class hotel to have such rude staff....
Read moreIn the theater of dining, anticipation is half the experience. Regrettably, my rendezvous at this establishment began on a jarring note. Despite reserving a table a month in advance for a celebratory occasion, we were kept waiting at the door, only to be informed that our table was still occupied. This smacks of an all-too-familiar sin of restaurants overbooking their sittings.
The curtain rose to reveal a scant menu – no appetizers save for a complimentary spicy tahini. Without a guide, we ventured into the offerings: a barely passable white fish in citron, a suspiciously lean "wagyu" steak, and an otoro tuna that was underwhelmingly simplistic. Portion-wise, the dishes were more like overtures, yet the bill suggested otherwise.
Our culinary theater concluded with an absent dessert act – after a considerable wait, it became clear the finale wasn't forthcoming. While the views from the terrace might steal the show, the production as a whole was uninspired. If you're seeking a recommendation, it would only be for my...
Read moreWe were very disappointed with our experience.
First, despite confirming our reservation three separate times and booking for three people, we were seated at a table for two — even though multiple tables for three were available. As restaurant owners who are used to exclusive hospitality standards, we find this unacceptable and difficult to understand.
We ordered two glasses of Minutil wine, which arrived filled with ice. We never requested ice, and when we asked for an explanation, the staff could not provide one. Only after mentioning it again did they offer the glasses of wine free of charge, which we appreciated, but it still did not make up for the experience.
The food was also below expectations: the gnocchi was heavily overcooked, and the chicken was mediocre at best.
From our perspective and experience in the high-end hospitality industry, the service, attention to detail, and overall standards fell far short of what should be expected. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend this...
