Auberge des 7 Plats — Restaurant in Le Mans

I can say that I have been going there for about 13 years or so , never had any problems, only compliments. Last Saturday was the worse time I've ever spent there. We were greeted by a "speedy Gonzales of a chef de salle/service" who was extremely disrespectful, unprofessional and out of line/control. When we got there, we prepared our "pass sanitaire" to show her, she told us that she was going to check it later. SHE NEVER DID thus putting ALL of us in jeopardy. From unpleasantly talking down to people to going as far as throwing the utensils that we asked for on the table. When I had enough of her behavior, I asked to speak with the manager, she stated that she was in charge and to go sit down almost just as if I was her child. I did ask her to NOT return at our table and to let us finish our meal STRESS FREE. At least she respected that and sent us other beautiful souls. All of the other colleagues were excellent and very professional. As we were leaving, she was downstairs, we said goodbye to her and her colleague, she didn't even bother acknowledging us. I called the restaurant this morning, spoke with someone who told me that they were aware and somewhat denied that the allegations ever took place and NEVER even bother to apologize. The reason for this LOW review is to put management on guard to make sure that sanitary rules are there for a reason and a "chef de service" busy or not should NEVER EVER behave as such. Besides that, the food is and has always been excellent except this...

We have eaten in this restaurant before and been more than happy with the food . we had booked a family meal for ten people purely for the menu we had in fact telephoned twice to confirm dates /times on the second call the member of staff spoke excellent English and confirmed as we asked , my husband overheard the entire conversation we arrived at the restaurant at arranged time to be told that our reservation was for two hours later(9.30) having four young children in the party we would never of considered booking this late The staff at the desk at this point became rude , but then said we can offer a solution ?? we were taken down the road to another of there restaurants where strangely a table for ten was already set up.. although the staff were great the food was below par and a completely different menu We own a chambre d'hote /gite business here and have sent many people to you over the years this will not happen again we are removing your cards from the gites today and will not set foot...

Pour notre repas, nous avons choisi de commencer par une entrée légère, suivie d'un pavé de bœuf en plat principal. Le pavé de bœuf était tout simplement exceptionnel. La viande, d'une qualité irréprochable, était cuite à la perfection selon nos préférences. Elle était incroyablement tendre et juteuse, révélant une maîtrise parfaite de la cuisson. Les accompagnements, composés de légumes de saison soigneusement sélectionnés, complétaient le plat de manière harmonieuse. Chaque bouchée était un plaisir, mêlant saveurs et textures avec finesse.

Pour couronner ce repas déjà mémorable, nous avons opté pour les crèmes brûlées en dessert. Ces crèmes brûlées étaient un véritable chef-d'œuvre culinaire. La croûte de caramel, dorée et croustillante, craquait sous la cuillère pour révéler une crème onctueuse et veloutée à l'intérieur. La douceur subtile de la vanille et la texture soyeuse de la crème ont clôturé notre repas sur une note exquise.

Le service au restaurant "Les 7 Plats" mérite également une mention spéciale. Le personnel était attentif et professionnel, toujours prêt à répondre à nos questions et à nous conseiller avec bienveillance. Nous avons particulièrement apprécié les recommandations avisées concernant les vins, qui se sont parfaitement accordés avec nos plats.

En plus de la qualité de la nourriture et du service, l'emplacement du restaurant dans le Vieux Mans ajoute une dimension supplémentaire à l'expérience. Après le repas, une promenade dans les rues historiques du quartier s'impose, permettant de prolonger le plaisir de la soirée.
