Its absolutely and beautifully insane, and i mean absolutely everything about the restaurant!!! I will be honest i am someone who travels a lot and i mean A LOT. And since i have been in more than 100 restaurants basically in every country i can vouch to say that this is an amazing restaurant! We found it by accident right after i landed, and i thought it was just another normal restaurant but i was pleasantly surprised and pleased to be wrong. First of all the customer service is great the waitress is nice she cares about customers and knows decent english and even has good knowledge in wines(i guess that was quite obvious) but anyways in most restaurants(lets take a burger as an example) there really isnt a lot of work put in it and just a beef mince patty but here they actually cooked real beef and obviously this isnt sooo rare right? But in most tourist restaurants they try and make the food as fast as possible also saving money on things like cheese vegetables and so on. Here it was actual french cheese melted and nicely done. Anyway all the customers are happy its clean, nice and not too pricey. Im happy with the place and also if you haven’t figured out i like to cook also i would recommend to...
Read moreThis place has an adorable patio and great atmosphere in the heart of Giverny. The food was decent, I wouldn't say it was particularly spectacular but nothing tasted bad, everything was good. Unfortunately, it was really the service that put a bit of a damper on the whole experience. The service felt extremely rushed and inattentive - the kids menu came with a drink but we had to ask three different times for our kids' drinks before we received them. At the end of the meal they asked if we wanted to order dessert but didn't bring the dessert menu, we asked for it but they never brought it so we just scrapped the desert idea. The whole meal just felt a bit rushed and a bit haphazard. It was a kid-friendly place, at least, especially as far as France standards go (French kids are impeccably well behaved and seem to have endless patience during meal time and an uncanny ability to sit still and quietly for hours - so finding a restaurant that's casual and easy going enough for boisterous, bouncy, not-so-well behaved kids in France is tricky). If the service was better we would have felt good about the...
Read moreFriendly attentive service. Lovely outdoor terrace but inside there is lots of dining room space also, including a covered terrace. Very pretty surroundings.
This isn't a fancy fancy restaurant, but the food is very good for the price and type of casual restaurant that it is. Think: good quality local park bistro, humble with menu description but detail on the plate.
We had the seafood jambalaya (gluten and lactose free), which arrived hotter than the sun but was tasty, and plenty of seafood (prawns langoustine and fish), some veg and long grain rice. The sauce was a little watery, but flavoursome, and no spoon (and I can't eat the bread b/c of a gluten allergy), but the portion size was plentiful. My husband had the beef burger, which looked amazing. It was topped with onions and cheese, red cabbage slaw, had a salad and homemade fries on the side. Yum.
I also had the homemade peach ice tea, which was very refreshing.
Overall a very pleasant lunch after visiting the museum. Closed Wednesdays. No reservations for lunch, but on a rainy Tuesday outside of school holidays we...
