12 of us visited this pavement cafe in one of the main squares in Lille during a Eurostar away day from London. We got there mid morning when the square was quiet, stayed through the lunchtime rush when the square be ame full and in to the mid afternoon when it quieted down again.
During our stop we sampled the various beers they have on tap, some soft drinks and coffees. All in all good all round. We tried some of the local sausage which wasn't what we expected but it went down well nonetheless. It's a dry hard thing cut in to slices and, I would imagine, normally eaten with something else like a sauce or dip etc but not on it's own. If you want just drinks and bar snacks you can sit outside the cafe. If you want meals you need to sit in the covered table area on the square itself. The place does get busy so go there early to get a place. What we saw of the food being taken to the tables looked good. All in al, a nice place to sit and chat for a few hours at standard, city centre,...
Read moreI'm not advising this place to anyone. Disgusting service, the waiters are rude and don't care about costumers. Indian manager is very unprofessional. Cannot control the situation and prefer to run away. I order the meat. Obviously, I know how meat should be taste like. My friend was waiting for me and I had no time to wait any longer and you never know what a surprise it's can be with next one. I'm sorry , but it's not how should businesses work. If you want to spoil your mood - go there. P.s they charge all price...
Read moreVisited this place recently. Clearly obvious the manager/ owner does not like the English! Waited upon French customers before us, even though we were there before them. He was just rude! Mostly all restaurants in Lille supply a menu in English, not here. It would be lovely to speak in the language of every country you visit but clearly unrealistic. Seeing as English is spoken mostly all over the world you think they would offer a menu in English. Hence, we got up and left as we got fed up with waiting! Every other restaurant, bar, shop we went to were very friendly and helpful. I'd swerve this one if...
