Le Lys — Restaurant in Lille

Horrible. We have been waiting for more than 50 min for 2 mains. My partner’s moules frites we’re ok, but my main came out cold, the chips as well. I asked the waitress for a new one, it took again 30 min so my partner has been eating alone, so I m have too. When my main came again (barely hot again but I was hungry so I started eating). The meal was terrible. Very had and chewy and so much fat. Really bad peace of meat in it (carbonade). The waiter had been nice though, he did not charge me for my carbonade and he agreed that this day had been chaotic for the kitchen, that they did not expect so many people. But what do you expect in the most popular place of Lille, a Saturday lunch when it’s a beautiful hot sunny summer day?!!! Come on!

Was greeted by a server but when we communicated that we could not speak French, but that we were looking for a table, the server then moved to the next people in line. Afterwards, he came back to us and without any pleasantries just pointed us to a table. After waiting a notable time for the menu or anyone to serve us and getting none, I went to the bar to ask for the menu. What I got was a very tattered and ragged menu soiled with what I assume was beer. Appetite killer.

Can't be exactly sure the reason for the second-class treatment in such a tourist-centric location, but we decided to find somewhere that actually wanted our business.

Visited from the UK and had dinner expecting high quality food for the price. Food came, I ordered rice as a side dish and then the waiter informed me that they did not have it as he served me my food. UNBELIEVABLE how can you not have rice. I was left hungry with a bowl of olives and one chicken thigh! The food was terrible. 5 meals and nobody enjoyed them. The lasagne looked microwaved and had no meat.
