Pitaya Thaï Street Food Lille — Restaurant in Lille

We went here during lunch time, as far as I know you could just walk in without reservation. They cook the food at the station where you could see. It was fun to watch. But the food smell might lingering on your clothes after. You ordered at the cashier.

We ordered the Shrimp Pad Thai and the Beef Pad Thai. My boyfriend said his noodles a bit dry but for me it was fine. I like the taste but I would not say it was the best Pad Thai I have ever had. The portion was a lot, I could not finish mine. I did ask them to make mine extra spicy. However, it came out with some chillies cut. It was not spicy at all. Overall, I think it was worth the money...

They have about 5 items on their menu for vegetarians - but because they did not have tofu in stock they would not make 4 out of 5 dishes without the tofu! I asked them to replace the tofu (which they did not have!!) with vegetables, and was told that that would be an extra charge... A vegetarian rice was eventually available but greasy, filled with caramelised onions, raw iceberg lettuce and nothing else. And the chilli that I paid extra for… I mistakenly touched the underside of their high stool and my fingers were almost glued to the stool due...

After 5 years of our support we are glad to say goodbye to Pitaya. The place has had sewage problems since Nov 2021. In 2023 I spoke to the owner directly about it but he refused to listen. Today 18th April we went there to eat and the entire corner where we sat had the stench of fresh sewage behind the walls. It was rancid. After identifying myself to the staff, who mocked me when I said I was a chef, i concluded that these filth mongers are just not worth it. I WILL be reporting them to the right authorities, they certainly should not be...
