Brasserie - Burger Monsieur Le Baron — Restaurant in Limoges

Reviews from 6 months ago reported this place as good. We did not have that experience. It was a wet night & we needed somewhere to dine near our hotel. This was across the square. We entered and no one there to greet us. The dining area is upstairs but we didn't know this. Eventually a waiter came and showed us where to sit. Our order was taken quickly. So we thought all was going well. We'd ordered chicken with mushroom sauce. It came within minutes, so it must be a dish they keep warm, not freshly prepared. Some of it was dry. It was supposed to be with fries and salad. No salad appeared. Neither did our beers. The problem is the staff are downstairs, so you have to go looking for them, which is a pain. We gave up trying, ate the chicken, paid & left in a hurry. I know we should have said something at the time, but we just wanted to get out & back to our dry hotel room. Fin avril, mon épouse et moi avons fait une petite escale à Limoges sur la route des vacances. Le soir venu, nous nous sommes mis en quête d'un établissement où diner. Mais après avoir fait le tour de plusieurs quartiers, nous n'avions toujours pas trouvé notre bonheur. Dépités, nous rentrions vers la gare quand avons croisé "Monsieur le Baron". D'extérieur, on aurait plutôt dit un bar à cocktails chics, mais la carte nous a mis l'eau à la bouche. Le personnel est accueillant et aux petits soins, la nourriture excellente (je conseille le Baron Conquistador et sa petite sauce relevé, et le Duc New Yorkais, un hot dog copieusement revisité). Les desserts ne sont pas en reste ! Le tout dans une ambiance très feutrée, mais avec des touches humoristiques. Bref, en couple, entre amis ou en famille, c'est l'endroit idéal pour passer un bon moment si vous êtes à Limoges, et pour un rapport qualité/prix tout à fait honorable.
