We had a pleasant, but not wonderful stay at this small hotel. Its biggest asset was that our room overlooked the beach and various kiddie attractions--a bit noisy during the day, but quiet at night.
It's unfortunate that our welcome on arrival was less than warm because that colored our impression of the place. On our arrival, it took a while for someone to show up at the reception desk, then we were just handed our key in a rush with a rapid-fire explanation about the door code and breakfast. The lock mechanism which was meant to take a card was broken, but it did take a key. Fine, but again, not a great initial impression. Our "deluxe double" was not large and "deluxe" is a stretch as a descriptor. The walls were a tasteful grey, the bathroom unobjectionable, the bed comfortable, the furniture cheap and a little dilapidated. The WiFi was so weak as to be non-existent. It connected for a few seconds at a time.
The buffet breakfast was fine and reasonably priced, with surprisingly excellent croissants and other pastries.
Overall, it is inexpensive for its location overlooking the beach and was fine as a place to be for a few nights. But it would make the place so much more appealing if the staff had been friendlier and more welcoming. That should be something they can...
Read moreWe spent two nights here mid-March and we very glad that we’d chosen this hotel. The situation is excellent: close to the sea and the Casino (not that we used the latter!). Our sea-view room was modern and extremely comfortable, and the bathroom was spacious although I would have preferred a little more counter-top space for toiletries rather than a double sink. However it was all spotlessly clean and clearly newly refurbished. One thing to note is that there is no lift but although our room was only on the 1st floor Madame very kindly took one of our bags (the heavier) up to the room for us. The breakfast was excellent, with wonderful bread and croissants and the option to have boiled eggs, cheese with charcuterie, apple compote and home-made yogurts. The owner was charming and advised us on where to park: the parking zones are clearly marked but we found the payment machines somewhat confusing. Out of season the Green Zone, furthest away from the hotel is free. We didn’t eat at the hotel but after reading the reviews we wish we had. However the restaurant is closed on a Monday, the second evening of our stay, so we missed the opportunity. I hope very much that we’ll return and we will...
Read moreWe stayed here for 3 nights in June, and found a treasure. We were with a group, and the hotel welcomed us with great hospitality. We were there for a D-Day trip, and they decorated the dining room with American flags, in honor of our stay. Rooms are cozy, clean and very comfortable. We had a beautiful view of the sea, and slept with the windows open every night. The staff was warm and so friendly, and our breakfasts were delicious. I think they had the best croissants in Trouville-sur-Mer! Thank you for a wonderful experience, our thanks to all who made us...
