Unfortunately this was a disappointment. We don't mind the language barrier, at the end of the day we are in France so with Google managed to translate some of the menu. Husband had fish and chips and it was a big standard frozen piece of buttered fish you get in a supermarket, which was not great as you'd expect something fresh from a seaside restaurant. Sons beef burger was OK, although they cooked it medium without asking. I ordered the chicken burger and it was the worst burger I have even had. The chicken was like straight out of a cheap packet and heated, bland, no taste, strange texture, it wasn't grilled chicken breast or breaded, it was just weird. Daughter had chicken nuggets which were fine, again, straight out of a freezer. Chips were homemade but some burned to crisp. The place was not too busy once we sat down but service very slow, we felt almost ignored. It's a shame as Honfleur is beautiful and the muscle dished looked nice, just need to pay attention to your while menu not...
Read moreCame in with an appetite, left with a smile best servers in the honfleur area by a mile. Greeted an air of optimism. Though the weather cold the greeting warmer than the piping hot chocolates we were served. As my starving family, hungry for not only a croissant but human interaction, sit down expecting the average croissant we find the single best waiter in the whole of Europe. Not only did we find conversation through the language barrier, but were met with many ideas for food when they told us they tan out of croissants. In the end we ordered 2 hot chocolates and 2 cappuccinos for only £20 but the friendship I made had no price tag, just a smile and a chortle. Believe me, if you eat here, count yourself lucky. I ordered a cappuccino but got given a cup of laughs. The happiness this trip bought me is magical. Every time I think about it I go into excruciating pain knowing I will never experience such warmth again. If you want JUST want a drink and snack, do...
Read moreOn a very busy and hot day we sat down here to have a much needed drink. Being aware that many eateries in this area are restaurants, we decided to try this place as it says 'salon du thé' on the outside. We sat just by the window. This was clearly an error of epic proportion as when we asked politely, in French for two coffees a man came over and said "not here". I replied "ok, so where, there?" and pointed to a table outside. He then proceeded to lean over me to bang down a salt and pepper shaker and walk off. We did not stay as there were many other places much more happy to serve us without...
