I should've known this place would be bad when I saw the cheap decor. The tables had a laminate to make them look like wood, but it was fake. The knives were the cheapest ones available at Ikea - I know because I own the same knives, and they even say Ikea on them. The candles were fake too.
I also should've been skeptical when I noticed no one was eating food. The only other people there were having beers and wine. I spent a month in France and this was easily the worst meal I had, and I ate at McDonald's during the trip.
The bread basket tasted stale and not fresh. The cod was overcooked. The vegetarian plate was just some quinoa and zucchini strips steamed together with what were obviously jarred red peppers and some capers thrown on top - almost no flavor, and a very strange combination of things to put together. Everything tasted like it was not homemade and was heated up in a microwave.
We had actually had originally ordered a dessert and canceled it because our first two courses were so terrible. This terrible meal still cost €68, which is basically robbery.
Terrible. I do not recommend. Based on my what I can tell from reading online, this place changed ownership and you should ignore old reviews. I'll be surprised if this place is still in business in...

We had high hopes for this restaurant, but were sorely disappointed. Firstly, we ordered from the kids menu only to receive something entirely different. When we inquired, the staff told us the menu was a summer version and hadn’t been updated.
The service was incredibly slow; we waited 45 minutes just for our starter to arrive. To add insult to injury, the full menu for one person costs 36 EUR, and that doesn’t even include drinks!
Lastly, I ordered fish and found it to be undercooked. Given the price and the poor service, this dining experience was definitely not worth it. Save your money and...
Read moreI must admit that I dine at La Scene weekly for lunch. This should tell you how excellent this restaurant is. I can walk outside from my apartment here in Lyon and be at 100 restaurants in 5-7 minutes. I try them also, but La Scene is my favorite when I want authentic, traditional French cuisine.
I always get freshly prepared food, creative dishes, excellent service all at a reasonable price. While you are trying restaurants, make sure you stop by La Scene. It likely will be...
