This was a bumpy ride. We came because of the view and the dessert. That was delivered. Both spectacular.
It took a good 10 minutes to a glass of something in our hands. Another 15 for the menu.
Even after kindly suggesting that my mediocre French language skills will not suffice for complicated dinner like this, this was not attended to.
What was the real joke is the sommelier showing me the wine, well the back of the bottle, because the front label looked like it was 20 years old. I asked to see the vintage (on the front) that’s when i saw the state. Knowing that this wine (savioe wine by domaine bellourad) is from 2018 and doesn’t have a cork but rather a glass top, I thought I’d be in a safe place, this wine had a completely palpable mouse. I know it’s a natural wine, but the audacity to even try to serve me this wine at 95 euros in Michelin star restaurant makes me more than question what is going on.
The sommelier tried the wine before serving it to us. why would you do the taste test and then decide to serve ? 2 options 1 to cheat us 2 because he has no clue what he’s doing. Kind of him to give us 2 glasses of completely fine burgundy. But this...
Read moreTerrible service for this level of restaurant. I had to ask for bread while other patrons were served first although they arrived after us. We had to pour our own wine. I asked for the check and waited 15 minutes before I had to walk to the back near the kitchen to ask for the check again. When we left no one asked us about the bags we'd stored at coat check. A curt "sorry" was only response I received when I complained about our experience. Just not up to the level of a Michelin starred restaurant. Somehow the credit machine did not work at our table while it worked for every other table. I had to walk back to near the kitchen again to pay. The food as you may have guessed is nothing memorable. Average at best. Something I can create in my own apartment kitchen. The bottle of wine was decent though. When I spoke to the hotel manager in charge she actually just said "what do you want me to do" in a rhetorical way and offered nothing in return. I hope Michelin check it this restaurant again and potentially remove that star. It was NOT worth the €160 for...
Read moreI came to this restaurant with a few friends expecting a wonderful evening. We left before ordering any food. I was shocked to see that they adhere to archaic standards and provide men and women different menus.
All the men at our table received menus WITH prices, and all the women at our table received menus WITHOUT prices. We thought this was a simple mistake, but when we asked our waiter, he confirmed the restaurant indeed does give men and women different menus because they expect the men pay for the women’s meals, since men make more money.
One of the men at the table proceeded to explain that his fiance actually made more money that anyone at the table and that SHE would be paying for the meal that evening. The server LAUGHED and said he didn't believe it.
We immediately paid for our drinks and left without ordering dinner. I will not spend my money at a restaurant that adheres to a sexist policy. I would be happy to give this place second chance if they ever decide to eliminate this outdated and...
