My daughter and I had a memorable visit to a restaurant in the lower part of Lyon’s Bohemian district. We enjoyed a cozy setting on the steps, though there are also many inviting places to sit both inside and outside. All the ingredients are fresh and local, which makes every dish stand out.
Our pâté croûte maison was just perfect — packed with herbs and spices, with the meat cooked to perfection. We also tasted mussels in a rich, slightly spicy ’nduja sauce, which added a wonderful kick and was simply delicious.
The restaurant is owned and run by a young man and his wife. He comes from Beaujolais, so don’t miss the chance to ask about wines from his family’s vineyard! There is also an excellent selection of wines by the bottle, making it easy to find something that pairs beautifully with the food.

Read moreWe are a family of 4 staying in Lyon for one month. Had the fortune to live right near Quartier. Saw it received a near perfect score so had to give it a try. Been here several times and it’s amazing every time. The food is delicious, service is friendly and attentive without being overbearing, atmosphere is clean and cool inside complete with an adorable dog named Pollo, and the price is so reasonably affordable. For me, I feel there’s a lot of food for the lunch set menu.
I hesitated to recommend this place because I’m afraid it will become even more popular that we can’t get a table. 😂 We haven’t tried the tapas at night and plan to do that soon. The drink options are plentiful, something for everyone. Everything is good here, even the coffee!
