À Moro — Restaurant in Marseille

Well the staff here are racist and can’t count, if you’re visiting and a person of color do not come here. We sat down and before we can order they came over to ask if we were smoking weed of course the entire process afterwards was tinted with the same tone with us. We all speak French fluently yet they spoke to us like we were idiots. We ordered 3 entrees and three plates because we’re four people and just wanted to try different things on the menu then they acted like we were too cheap to afford the price and told us we can’t split meals. Terrible service and watching them interact with other tables it’s quite ironic that they’re only yelling at one table. They also are running out of dishes...

Rien à dire sur la cuisine qui est toujours exceptionnelle. En revanche le service ??? Vous avez pris un coup de chaud ??? C'est la première fois que je suis mal servie mais je n'ai pas été loupée ! Je suis venue pour manger des pâtes, pas pour me faire prendre de haut. Je réserve une table pour 5 personnes dans ce restaurant que j'aime beaucoup. Deux de mes convives sont en retard. Au bout de 15 minutes, comme personne ne s'est approché de notre table, ne serait-ce que pour présenter la carte ou pour nous proposer à quelque chose à boire, j'interpelle un serveur qui me répond que ce n'est pas possible de commander tant que la table n'est pas au complet. Je réponds que l'on souhaiterait au moins voir la carte. On nous amène l'ardoise, exaspéré. Toujours pas de demande pour une éventuelle commande de boissons, et surtout pas de présentation de la carte qui est en italien en partie, et comme c'est l'usage dans ce restaurant. Une de mes amies demande des explications sur certains plats, on vient nous les donner, à la dégoutée, et à la fin la serveuse indique qu'il y a de la ricotta rapée sur le plat, je marque un léger étonnement "rapée ?" Réponse : "ouais rapée ouais" hautaine et en levant les yeux au ciel. On ne nous a jamais proposé à boire. Et une pensée émue pour la dame qui déjeunait à coté de moi, qui a demandé une paille et à qui la serveuse a répondu "Non on a pas d'pailles. Les pailles ça fait chier"....

If you're black or brown this restaurant will not be very welcoming. From the moment we sat down to the moment we left it was a series of racist micro agressions - from profiling us for smoking a roled cigarette as if it was weed, not letting us order what we wanted as if we were trying to cheat them out of their money and then explaining to us with a drawing their menus as if we were toddlers, to their servers laughing at us with their clients when we complained...
