Made a last minute 7:30pm reservation for three on a Saturday night. They were fully booked (albeit most of the reservations were for later in the evening) as most walk-in diners only had the option of their outdoor seating. Diners seemed to be a mix of locals and tourists. The menu which changes weekly was in French but our server walked through it in detail for us in English. We ordered one two-course prix fixe and two three-course prix fixe and shared all the dishes. All three starters were great - the salmon confit was incredibly melt-in-your-mouth, fish soup was very rich with seafood flavour, and the beef carpaccio was tasty and well seasoned. Mains were excellent too. I loved the duck and shrimp, both cooked perfectly and the sauces and purée that accompanied were delicious. The octopus was super tender and the beef borgonion was excellent. All three dishes came with a really good potato side - the truffle mashed potatoes that came with the beef was a highlight. Both desserts were wonderful as well. Portion sizes were more than reasonable and overall quality was great for the price. We only saw two staff that evening - one hosting/serving and one in the open kitchen. However, service was very efficient, and we never had to wait long for food or water. Highly recommend if you’re in Marseille!

EXCEPTIONAL We have been in France for about 2 months and this is by far our best experience. Every meal was top notch and out of the beaten path, the drinks and wine were fantastic and the service made you want to live there. Surprising and delicious limoncello spritz proposed by our fantastic waiter/owner. Burrata with anchoiade and pan con tomato / small fish soup to start (both so memorable!) Followed by a fantastic risotto with a melt-in-your-mouth red tuna / the best veal I had in my life with a potato to die for and the sauce…omg the sauce…madeleine de proust moment. Great Vacqueyras wine perfectly complimenting these godly dishes. You would think the desert would be were it goes down but nope. Marinated Vine peaches with an insane chantilly and a killer crumble…exceptional. Small and lovely add-on, the chef brings your plates and explains directly what and how he cooked these amazing meals. Oh and café was offered! The service was really over the top, you know these guys love what they do and want to share it with you. What an amazing hidden gem.

La Delicatesse is nothing short of outstanding. From the moment you step in, the reception sets the tone for an impeccable dining experience. The atmosphere is inviting, creating a space where you can unwind and savour the culinary journey ahead. When it comes to wine, their selection is well-curated, perfectly complementing the food offerings. Speaking of food, it's a masterclass in culinary artistry—each dish finely crafted and bursting with flavour. The menu is not only exquisite but fairly priced, offering excellent value for such high-quality fare. In summary, La Delicatesse delivers an unmatched experience, epitomising the best in fine dining. A must-visit for anyone seeking a gastronomic delight without breaking the bank.
