La Relève — Restaurant in Marseille

Really, really good food. Great wine. Service was fantastic. They were clearly so busy (this place is busy every time I walk past it), but they never make you feel bad or rushed. The guy at the bar was making drinks so quickly and getting orders back to back, but still took the time to be friendly and patient when we ordered our drinks. The girl who was in the street waiting the tables was friendly and funny, giving great advice about what to order. Our food arrived fast.

You cannot make reservations, you just have to stand among the tables and wait for someone to stand up and move fast to grab it. That's not for everyone, but we didn't mind :-)

Place was packed on a regular Thursday evening. Service was great and speedy delivery of drinks. However, I also ordered a dish which never arrived. I even reminded and pointed out the missing food to the waiter. The food never arrived. I can live with that. Plenty of other options around. But then to want to charge for the food not served I found unfair. That’s the reason...

We’ve been there twice:once for lunch and once for dinner. For lunch,you can choose between three dishes (we took one vegetarian and one with fish). For dinner,you can choose between various tapas to share (we took five vegetarian and fish dishes). Everything was so yummy! Very busy place,lively atmosphere,nice crew,super fair prices.
