The location of the restaurant is superb with a wonderful view of Marseille, and a really nice walk through the park to get to.

The staff were ok, didn't seem to really like questions being asked. When asking about the food and wine, our waiter was very abrupt and didn't seem to have much interest.

He was standoffish when we realised that one of the chicken dishes was raw in the middle and didn't seem to care that much. We got a short disingenuous apology before walking off. So that was really disappointing; luckily we didn't get food poisoning!

Some dishes tasted great, while other dishes fell short when it came to flavour. Presentation was nice though. Food just in general needed better seasoning and care to cook it properly!

While we were finishing our lunch, a photographer arrived to have a photoshoot, which was disturbing to the remaining guests in the restaurant. Some of the shoot happened in the toilet, which meant guests weren't able to use it anymore, and had to go to a much more makeshift toilet outside. We thought it was a bit strange they would prioritise this photoshoot while guests were...

I went to this restaurant as it was Michelin starred to spend a birthday evening for my girlfriend. It was far from what was expected. The portions were tiny, the service quite slow, and the restaurant policy quite unreasonable. I asked if they did anything for a birthday and the waitress let me know she could put a candle on our desserts. The desserts came 15 min later while I was in the bathroom with no candle…I asked for another dessert with a candle and it came an additional 15 min later. They charged me €16 for this second dessert. Most other places, that dessert would be on the house as a favor to us for the original mistake of not having the candle. We also never ended up receiving a drink which they tried to charge for. Super slow and definitely put a damper on the birthday. We also are ending up having to order some more food from somewhere else because we are...

It feels a bit like a place that used to be exciting, but has given up on trying to impress its guests. The food was pretty decent. Not outstanding, but reasonable for its price. The atmosphere felt a little dead (we were put on a small table next to the kitchen surrounded by empty tables). And the service was almost a caricature of what you'd expect. Two of our party were French but even they said it was ruder than you'd imagine. Waiters for the most part ignored us and left empty plates and glasses when new courses came. We'd asked if another table might be free and they brusquely just said no. Then when an American guest asked for the "paris-brest", we were given an eye roll and told like schoolchildren that Paris is pronounced "Paree not Paris" with an eye roll. Felt a tad unnecessary and rude, even from...

We came there for lunch during our family vacation, looking for good food and a nice atmosphere. In some ways, we got that, but a few things left us very frustrated. First, I don’t understand why the restaurant is called Sepia if the menu has such a poor selection of fish. Second, the staff was extremely unprofessional. For a restaurant listed in the Michelin Guide, being so inattentive to customers is unacceptable. They brought bread long after serving the main dish, and it looked like leftovers. Since we were with a child, it would have been nice if they had at least brought him a proper piece of bread—something you’d expect from a place with such ambitions. Some waiters seemed like they didn’t care at all and had no training to work in a restaurant. For us, the whole experience was more disappointing than enjoyable.

Oh. My. God. This place is a GEM! The location is fantastic, on top of a hill, in a little garden, out of the road, no traffic, lovely scenery. But let’s talk about the food... cause this is why you come here. They offer a 3 course menu, where you chose from 3 different entrees, mains and deserts. Good OCD points right there. I had the bellpeppers and octopus as an entree. It was amazing. I just want to keep eating them, had to slow down to not look like I have escaped from an isolated island with no food. Main course I chose the lamb, i seriously could not finish it. It was amazing, I regret it, but seriously, I wanted to actually eat the desert too. Desert... some sort of fruit tart and ice cream. Amazing! Well worth the wait. The whole thing was reasonably priced, and I will definitely come back.

Everyone eating here was American or English - for good reason as this is an overpriced tourist trap of a place. We had the fixed menu dinner. The food tastes like simple food that you could cook at home and the service was also very slow. No locals eat here for good reason. I had the crab starter but it didn’t taste of crab and just tasted of the curry sauce which was very overpowering. I had white fish for main which was fine but really nothing special. The chocolate tart dessert was the worst course- so liquidy- it was basically just melted chocolate poured into a chocolate casing with a horrible lemon sauce that did not go with the dish at all and tasted medicinal. Very disappointing and overpriced meal. Go somewhere more local and casual and you will get much better food and service in Marseilles!
