Pleasently surprised with food and amazing staff. Great view , HUGO was exceptional. Our son is a newly diagnosed type 1 diabetic at age 12, and this was his first trip out of the country from uk,after his school refused to take him on his planned school trip in view of his newly diagnosed condition ( they had 2 weeks ). Hugo , was understanding and also put him at ease and talked to him about the nutritional values of the menu ,hugo went a step further ,he weighed the food my son ordered and our son was able to inject the right amount of insulin based on the exact carb portions. Our son enjoyed the food and was made to feel normal and comfortable in a restaurant in France ! Hugo ,always having a broad smile on his face, looked after us well. The food tasted great seeing our son smile through out the meal. We went back again the next day .Hugo was the same and we enjoyed the food . The experience at paullete, has made our son confident to be able to travel out and be comfortable in asking nutritional values to restaurant staff outside UK ( and in french ! ) without...

Horrible expirience asked for a Pint and a mojito the waiter says doesnt have mint leaves then I asked for a daiquiri and asked for Calamari Pasta with no cheese. Came a small beer after 15m and the food took 35m to serve, was served with cheese and when i started removing the cheese from the plate the waitress came to ask if everything was 0k with bad face I explained the situation and of course she offered to change and I refused because I am not going to wait another half an hour for a past in which came big bowl of pasta with only 5 pieces of calamari....I asked about my daiquiri and she tells me they dont do cocktails. For a touristic place having a waiter that speaks 0 english is unacceptable plus having a cocktail menu if they dont do cocktails..... When I went to pay the I showed the visa and he says its 0k and when I went to pay the barkeeper told me the machine doesnt accept this visa card.... I aswell work as a waiter and never in my life gave or recieved this kind of expirience......

(-) Ordered a bouillabaisse and a veggie burger. I pretty much enjoyed eating the bouillabaisse (35€?) for the first time in my life, but I could say that it wouldn't be the best that you can get around the city. It was a little blend, didn't have a strong flavor for the seafood inside.

The veggie burger (18€?) was not that good. The plate wasn't small, and it was enough to make 3 people full (with the bouillabaisse), but the taste was just normal.. I would pay 9€ for it.

We also took a dessert (9€). They showed us how each desert looks like. (It made us drool even if we were full, good tactic 👍) We took a dessert that looked like a thick chocolate cylinder, with cream on the top. Again, it wasn't bad, but I'd pay top 4€ for it. It merely tasted like Magnum ice cream with cream and chocolate mousse in the middle.

(+) Good thing is that they served two kinds of breads (one was like a baguette, one was like...

Unfortunately the food here did not match the prices charged. I started with the fried goats cheese, which was good but needed a sauce or something to go with it as it was dry on its own. I then had the mussels and fries for dinner. The fries were hard so I only ate 2 out of the whole serving. The mussels had a tiny bit of extremely salty broth right at the bottom of the pot which meant all the other mussels were completely dry; not that you would want to dip them in the broth anyway as it was too salty. Most of the mussels were overdone and very rubbery/hard. I was expecting an abundance of creamy garlicy sauce I could dip some bread in, but these did not have that! I left disappointed with my French food experience, however I couldn’t fault the waiter. He was very friendly and attentive hence the 2 stars.

I was very disappointed with my experience at this place, since it was recommended by a local. I went there for lunch on a Friday. Had mussels with fries. The mussels were very dry, so previous reviews on this are unfortunately true. Fries seemed to be reheated. I then asked for a cafe gourmand, waited for around 20 minutes, and after I didn’t get it, I asked for the bill. At that point, I had been charged the cafe gourmand, even if they didn’t bring it. Mentioned it to the waitress, who didn’t apologize for either including it on the bill or forgetting to actually bring it to the table. Conclusion: there are plenty other restaurants with a view in the area that serve mussels - just try a different one.

IG: @melvineateat $$$ (EUR 50 per pax) 5-6/10 - Abit expensive for its quality. We ordered a steak, bouillabaisse, cuttlefish, a bottle of rose and 2 beers for 3 adults - Service was neither bad nor excellent - Steak was really tough even though we ordered medium rare and had it sent back, but still turned out tough and juices were all over the bowl, meaning no resting time. The marinate was just right though just the cooking time -Bouillabaisse could be better. Tasty but abit diluted. Mussels felt overcooked. - Cuttlefish was ok Overall, have potential but really not good enough..
