Economy place super close to the vieux port.I wasn't very impressed by the quality of the warm food. I wouldn't recommend it right away. Depends on your expectations. for.i got the impression it depends on who's in the kitchen and what is left over to fix a meal. The pictures of years ago look great but i dont t really recognize the food I had. Canbe it isn't to recommand on Saturday evening but nice for a lunch on weekdays. Anyway, our Couscous was dry, gravy that got together with is was very liquid, tajine missed veggies and herbs/taste. I only saw a load of onion (what was good cooked so ok). The dry figues were topped to the tajine and not cooked in it. so with some patience you can soak yoirself the dried fruit in your tajine liquid. Salad was fresh with good thick fries. Merguez seemed not well baked. Just grilled too hot/blackened.my impression is this is all precooked and put together (no offense as the price is very affordable). It will seem heaven in case you are into baklava, pastry and Mint tea (also varieties with orange blossom/ pine nuts).so don't expect the real thing for this price and you will have a good lunch/dinner.
Waiter was friendly, not very good in English but there s a translation of the menu next to the door in case your lack...
Read moreI can’t praise Le Palmier enough. On our last night in Marseille and on a Sunday evening, we struggled to find anywhere that wasn’t closed or fully booked but it led us here so all worked out perfectly in the end. The service was incredible - the humble pride they felt serving customers was palpable, and the thought and care that went into our experience was unmatched. The food was very inexpensive for the quality and quantity, and we never felt pushed to order more. In fact, the man who served us made suggestions only for our benefit. I felt in extremely good hands. Deffo try the artisanal lemonade - best lemonade I’ve ever tasted. The food was full of flavour. It came really quickly and the harissa paste was to die for! If I come back to Marseille, I’m definitely coming...
Read moreThere is a huge display of sweets in this restaurant and that was what attracted us initially. This was also going to be our first time eating a Tunisian meal. I had the apricot tagine with chicken and my partner had the meatballs with chips and salad. The tagine was served with couscous. It was amazing, i enjoyed the meal. It was very flavoursome. The meatballs were nice and delicious with proper home made chip. We totally enjoyed our meals.
For dessert we had a baklava and a jelebi they were really nice and delicious. The waiter that served us was very nice. The young waiter that served the sweets was also nice.
I totally recommend this restaurant. We enjoyed the whole experience. We visited for dinner on 8th...
