Restaurant "Le P'tit Nîmois" — Restaurant in Nîmes

We love travelling around France and always love the food and the people, that's why it's our 9th time coming back to the country. We had an amazing stay at Nîmes and our dinner the night before at another restaurant was fabulous. Unfortunately we had an awful experience at Le petit Nîmois just before we left the beautiful city of Nimes.

The food quality is very basic. The portion of ratatouille was small, but the taste was acceptable. We took a menu with a dessert, I've asked the waiter if a cheese platter was included, which confirmed it was. Afterwards it turned out they put it as an extra on the bill. Once we discovered this, I mentioned this to the waiter who was simply rude. While his colleague clearly gave this as an option. Afterwards he took away the platter and our wine and we were left without a desert, but with a terrible taste in our mouth of a lot of arrogance. Not the best way to end our stay in Nîmes. Would not recommend this...

When you hear that france has poor customer service at restaurants this is exactly the type of place people are talking about.

Bearded guy is very rude and condescending. He does not know how to handle critics and is willing to go the extra mile to defend his point instead of listening to customer like he should have been taught to. He was literally arguing with us in front of the whole restaurant in broad daylight.

We decided to leave the restaurant 10 minutes after we sat down. I could literally write a whole essay of all the customer service mistakes the staff made in those 10 minutes.

We decided to take our money to another restaurant who was happy...

Like many others here have noted, the food is very average. I had a lasagne. Clearly defrosted and microwaved, limp and uninspiring. The side salad....some of the cabbage was beginning to brown a little. Location excellent, but pretty poor food really, and since it is a restaurant I have to rate it on that first and foremost. I usually avoid places with less than a 4 star rating unless recent reviews are generally positive...my mistake therefore, but to the owners...sharpen up, lasagne should be fresh and oven baked, it does not take much, you're...
