La Bourriche — Restaurant in Nantes

We had a lovely dinner at La Bourriche, the perfect spot for a relaxed seafood evening in the heart of Nantes.

We started with a dozen “Spéciales B” oysters. Super fresh, beautifully green, meaty, and full of flavor. They paired perfectly with a bottle of crisp Chenin Blanc.

Then we shared the Capitaine board, featuring pink shrimp, whelks, fish rillettes, tarama, and a delicious tuna tataki. Everything was fresh, well-prepared, and generously served.

The service was fast and friendly. The atmosphere was calm and welcoming. Prices were very reasonable, around 40€ per person.

It was the sign that drew me in; instead of Happy Hour, they offered Happy Huitres! I enjoyed a half dozen freshly shucked, locally sourced oysters and a glass of lovely Muscadet... then I enjoyed another half dozen! Sitting inside where it was cooler, I could watch the small team working swiftly and well. Fresh, sweet, juicy oysters (La Bretonne) I had a dozen on my own. Snails were ok, I wished there was more juice in the shells. Impeccable service!
