Totally delighted. I was welcomed and offered the premier table with the best view. I ordered champagne and the shrimp salad starter. After having a glass of prosecco at happy hour, the champagne was really delightful. The salad was well balanced so that the flavor of the shrimp was given its due. For the main I had the lamb and asked for a glass of red. The hostess offered to choose the wine for which I was grateful. The lamb was nothing short of incredible. My partner and I had tried booking at the sister restaurant further into town, but it was closed for the evening and we were recommended here instead. So glad we went. The food was incredible. We had three courses with wine and coffee. The turbot and slow roast shoulder of piglet were delicious. Small menu of simple dishes that were very well cooked. Outstanding experience at Bistro de l'etoile! The hostess (also our server) was delightful and very helpful when we needed it. My wife's duck was cooked exactly how she asked for it and was excellent. My bonito was fresh, not overcooked, and very tasty. All the preparations were simple but very flavorful, and the quality of food was consistently excellent. With so many excellent restaurants in Villefranche-sur-Mer, we like to try different experiences, but we will revisit this restaurant (and it is very close to...
