EQUINOXE — Restaurant in Nice

Without doubt this is the restaurant not to miss! Beautifully positioned overlooking the harbour of St. Jean Cap Ferrat, Equinox is the best restaurant in town by a long mile. Run by Stephan and Patricia the cuisine is Mediterranean at its best, with freshly sourced ingredients whether truffles and cèpes from across the border in Italy or fresh caught line fish from the local fishermen, the daily menu changes according to the freshest ingredients. Also noteworthy is the exceptional amd extensive balanced wine list! Sara our waitress is always super attentive, polite and welcoming. Hospitality really is the name of the game here and clearly plenty of regulars who love the wonderful food and equally if not more , the genuine charm and friendship of Stephan, Patricia and Sara.

Overpriced. 50 EUR for one quite average dish, a glass of wine and cafe. There are much better choices just one street up as I found later. Waitress was ok although moody but the owner was very aggressive and rude, threatened with police when I wanted to pay with my mobile. I found 50m away an ice cafe where I could get cash.

Guests are sucked out and then threatened with police.

Restaurant très bien situé devant le port , nous avons commandés deux plats fricassée de poulet avec crème champignons,quand les plats arrivent pas de crème champignons mais sorte de soupe au beurre le plat était très sec (voir photo), nous réclamons auprès de la serveuse(vraiment très gentil )elle va voir en cuisine au retour en nous disant effectivement le chef de cuisine a mis très peu de crème.!!! 00,0 . On nous a refait un bol de crème champignons ,le plat bien sûr presque froid après l’attente,le riz était extrêmement « al dente ». Le troisième plat magret de canard sauce poivre bien recouvert par la grosse sauce béchamel avec quelques grains de poivre(et non une sauce au poivre) pour cacher le magret pas assez croustillant par rapport à la graisse du canard qui aurait pu être bien saisi dans la poêle. Pour le dernier, spaghettis vongole c’était correct. Trop cher, pour les plats qui ont été servi . Déçu ,les deux étoiles que...
