My daughter reserved this spot for a bday celebration for 9 people. Her plan was for tapas, drinks, mingling, toasting, celebrating with a view and live music. Unfortunately, the website does not explain that live music is not on Saturdays (only a DJ on Saturday). Would be nice to go back for live music. It's really a lovely rooftop - lots of tall tables with high chairs with a view, which we'd have loved, but those seat 7 max so when they were heading to bring our party way in the back near the bar/kitchen under the tarp roof where there was no breeze, no fans, no view and it was blazing hot and stuffy, to a table with chairs meant more for dining than mingling and chatting, we were very disappointed. It was also just too dang hot under there. My daughter had searched long and hard for the "perfect" place to celebrate her birthday and I knew she was terribly disappointed. I plead our case with the Maitre D, Pierre, and he very patiently and kindly tried to resolve this for us with a totally sold out evening - they were fully booked, which I understand. At the end, he was kind enough to allow us to gather next to the pool on the pool loungers and small tables - like a private party for the first hour! No view from there but it was SO much better than the table they had chosen for us and we were able to move about and chat with one another rather than be stuck on a chair. He and coworkers quickly rearranged the pool area to create a space for our party. They were awesome. We were SO grateful for this kind gesture. Merci, Pierre!! Our server was Akram (I hope I spelled that correctly - maybe it was Akaram), a very friendly and kind young man (family from Russia) who spoke English as well (our party was mostly bilingual but used a lot of English). Other than the first order of drinks taking a very long time (not our servers fault), he was attentive and we were really happy with our experience there - good tapas, drinks, ambiance, service.
(I can't speak much to the food, TBH. We had a bunch of tapas and I just...
Read moreMade a booking but when we arrived the staff seemed to be confused as to where we were to be seated. We waited around and 3 other groups of people lined up after us, all of which were ignored by the 2 staff members at the top of the stairs. We eventually were seated at the end of a bench seat and were informed that there would be another group at the end of the table. We thought this was odd as we booked in advance for only 2 people so we’re expecting an intimate seating arrangement, not to be added onto the end of another group. It then took us at least half an hour to be acknowledged by our waiter. The waiter came and served the group of girls at the end of our table before serving us. Our drinks and entree arrived half hour after ordering, and we never received water that we ordered. After finishing up, we tried to flag down our waiter but was unsuccessful, and after waiting an appropriate amount of time we went to the front to pay our bill. The 2 girls at the desk asked where we were seated and proceeded to laugh at us and tell that we needed to go back down and inform our waiter. We attempted to talk to our waiter but he was on his phone behind the bar so we were left to awkwardly stand around the tables whilst people were eating their meals. We were approached by a different lovely wait staff who assisted us paying our bill, although we were charged for our bottle of water that we never received, this was amended by the nice gentlemen. The 2 stars we are giving this restaurant is due to him. The rest of the place appeared unorganised and...
Read moreGot in to Nice late due to train from Paris Delay. Due to status, Marriott gave me the option of points or credits to be used at this restaurant. I opted for the credits. Bad choice. We go up to the roof top and we are greeted by Jonathan telling us there’s no space they are full. We ask to see a menu to take to the room. He gives us a QR code, while we are looking a couple walks in and he greets them they say table for two he takes them to a table… he must’ve noticed my reaction as he then came to us and said we can order drinks but no food. He kept walking past us telling me one minute will joking and laughing with the 2 tables next to us… The kids were hungry so we just ordered Uber eats and when he finally came we just ordered the kids smoothies to hold them over until their food came. If it wasn’t for the daily credit at this place I’d never return.
Went to the front desk to verify that was the only place to spend the credit they confirmed it was… we’ve been in Europe 3 weeks and this was the only experience we...
