Ilios — Restaurant in Nice

Had dinner at Ilios and it really impressed me – not just the food, but the whole vibe. What makes this place special? The view. It's right by the water, and you can see the yachts docked nearby while you eat – especially nice around sunset. Whether you're sitting outside or near the windows, it gives the whole experience a relaxed, almost holiday-like feel. The food was spot on. I had the souvlaki – tender and full of flavor – and shared a seafood platter that was super fresh. Their Greek salad is crisp and refreshing, and the baklava was the perfect way to finish. Big portions too! I would definitely suggest squid. Staff were chill, helpful, and knew the menu well. You never feel rushed. It’s not cheap, but not overpriced either – you’re paying for good food, a great setting, and that view. Totally worth it. The grilled octopus was served lukewarm, tepid--not chilled in a salad, not fresh off the grill but refrigerated and partially re-heated. Before I touched it, as soon as they set it down, I could tell by the smell that something wasn't right. (I've eaten octopus all over the world, including Sicily and Peru.) It was an insult that they thought they were getting away with it. They asked me if I wanted to order something else. I said no, that I wanted to go. Not sure what the hyped reviews are about. This was such a disappointment.

*Just an update to the owner’s response. The drink was never opened. They know that. Even if it had been, it’s the least they could do. It was a bottle of lemonade and it was still closed. I never touched it. But again, they know...

We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant! It’s a fantastic place with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Excelent service. The food was fresh and flavorful, clearly made with quality ingredients. We’ll definitely come back and highly recommend...
