One of the worst meals I've ever eaten.
I'm not going to address the fact that any food made by Jamie Oliver cannot, under any circumstances, be classed as Italian. We're all aware that Italians despise JO.
Firstly, It's incredibly disappointing that Nice Airport T2 doesn't have more places to eat - other than sandwich bars. As I'd already eaten a sandwich for my two previous meals and needed something more substantial, I had to turn to the only restaurant, thinking that if I accept it's not Italian food, it can't be that bad.
How wrong I was.
Overpriced. Not what is described on the menu. Understaffed.
The poor staff. The restaurant was full, with a long queue, and there were only 3 waiters in total. They had no time to actually serve customers, and I felt like a fleeting thought as 2 waiters acknowledged I wanted my bill, but couldn't stand still long enough to bring it to me. They were doing the best they could and deserve more staff to be hired.
The food: I ordered the Zuca Cannelloni, which implies there will be some form of squash (usually pumpkin) and yet there were only two, very small, squares of squash in the entire portion. The flavour of squash did not come through at all. I love cheese - good quality cheese. I would hope that for the price charged, the cheese would be of a high standard. There was too much and it was not good quality. The pasta was overcooked. The tomato based sauce seemed to relegated to the sides, rather than incorporated into the meal. It was huge! A meal with that much cheese does not need to be that big. Never in my life have I had to add so much salt to a restaurant meal! The taste and sheer quantity made me feel sick and I could not finish it - I detest wasting food (& money on food!)
Price: Honestly, had the waiters not been so rushed, I would have complained and refused to pay the full €18.50 for the meal. That is a ludicrous amount for a meal of such low standards. It is a rip off and I feel I should be owed a refund.
Overall, this was a horrible experience, horrible meal. The photo shows what I left, after forcing myself to eat because I needed to eat and it was expensive. I would not recommend Jamie's "Italian" at the best of times, but especially not now that I've actually tried it. Overpriced and not...

I recently visited a restaurant with high hopes, but sadly, my experience was far from satisfactory. I ordered their lasagne, a dish I usually enjoy, but what I received was nothing short of a disappointment. The lasagne I was served was burnt to such an extent that it had become rock hard and practically inedible.
Fortunately, a vigilant waiter noticed the issue and promptly took action to rectify the situation. However, the replacement lasagne that was brought to me was a whole new problem in itself. It arrived at my table freezing cold, leaving me with no choice but to conclude that it was completely inedible. It was evident that the kitchen staff had failed to execute the preparation and presentation of the dish to an acceptable standard.
What aggravated the situation further was the staff's lack of concern and indifference towards my dissatisfaction. Despite being presented with two subpar dishes in a row, the staff did not show any initiative to address the problem or offer a solution. Their attitude left a lot to be desired, and it seemed as though my concerns were being disregarded.
As a customer, I believe it is important to receive quality food and service when dining out, especially at a restaurant that prides itself on its offerings. Unfortunately, my experience at this particular establishment fell far short of my expectations. The lack of attention to detail, the inability to rectify the situation, and the dismissive attitude of the staff all contributed to an overall disappointing dining experience.
Based on my encounter, I cannot recommend this restaurant to others. The issues I encountered with the lasagne and the staff's indifference left a lasting negative impression. It is my hope that the management takes note of these concerns and takes appropriate measures to improve the quality of their food...
Read moreWell, what can I say, I thought it was just me having a bad experience, until I read the reviews. Flew from Nice on Sunday 21/07/19 back to Liverpool. We had lots of time, and then the flight was delayed, so we thought may as well have something to eat, to pass the time. The staff did just about bare minimum to get by, absolutely no effort to make us feel welcome. Our waiter appeared to be bickering with the chefs, although we didn't catch what it was about. Service was slow, and food only just average, you would cook better at home. After asking for another drink, nothing came, so stopped another waiter who didn't look interested however it did finally arrive, eventually! After paying up in full, Lord knows why?, the waiter just managed a reluctant merci!, it wasn't convincing! And finally, the reason for looking at the reviews, on leaving the restaurant, there were two "kitchen type staff", behind the counter, whom we had had absolutely no interaction with and one of them shouted, really sarcastically! " Bye!, Have a nice life!" If that's how Jamie trains his staff, no wonder he's shutting up shop! Nice Airport should be next one! Rant over,...
