Le Restaurant Estivale — Restaurant in Nice

Saw beautiful pics on the digutal screen of the terminal hall of raw seafood platters, which on a hot day is was better then a calf stew, too bad that despite being surrounded by the sea... no fish delivery; by the time I was notified, waitress already poured wine in my glass, so I felt like I had to stay. She recommended a purple artichokes salad , worth 22 euros: not quite the same but at least a summer alternative duringbheat waves alerts. Then the plate arrive and it was infact a regular mixed salad with litterally 6 tiny thin slices of portion of artichokes, see pics. I called the waiter to have an explanation, and the first thing he tells me... " ah my colleague didn't mention to you that it was infact a mixed salad with a few pieces of artichokes?" I answered him back that it was not even a matter of pieces, as the quantity would have not make not even for 1/4 of an artichoke( maybe more 1/7 or 1/8) . Fortunately though he sort of understood and eventually told me " mam don't worry, I'll ask for more artichokes, and brought back the main missing...

Considering this is an airport restaurant I have to say the food was excellent, not cheap at all. I had roast lamb which was cooked to perfection, soft, delicate, not too fatty. This waa served in a jus which only served to enhance this tasty lunch. This waa prededed by aubergine and humous tart flavoured with cumin. Very pleasant lunch whilst enjoying the pleasant vista towards the sea. Service was discreet and...

Unfortunately, I arrived here after the kitchen shut at 15:30 so cannot speak of the food here. The small coffee was €3. There is the option of hiring out a work station in the co-working area which is only €14 for three hours. You get to plug your laptop in and get good wifi.
