One thing I know for sure after 10 days in the French riviera. french people really have no idea about customer experience. I saw this beach at the beginning of our trip and decided to go there simply because it is close to our hotel. We saw it has a really bad review rating but thought whats the worst that can happen. Well, the worst that can happen is that they charge you extra for drinks and food. The waiters barely speak English, and in a such internationally populated location like Nice I think it is quite mandatory, especially if you work in HORECA. Yesterday I asked for linguini de maquis which is basically vegetables with pasta, and they brought me shrimp pasta (this is +8€ vs the vegetables ones). I did not want to make a fuss about it so I just ate it and paid the price. Today we ordered 3 rum/cola (which, if you work in HORECA), you know it is a cocktail. And they billed it separately as Rum and Coca Cola (an additional +3.5€ per person).

We wouldn’t have noticed unless just few hours before we left there were 2 other girls having the same problem - being charged more for what they ordered. So we checked before we paid and this is how we noticed. We discussed with the waiter and told him what we ordered is actually the “mixed drink” item from the menu which was 10€, not 13.5€ and he did not even let me speak, interrupted me constantly and said this is what we ordered. I asked to speak to the manager and the manager said we should pay the full price for the items separately because we did not specifically mentioned “mixed drink” - equise moi but I did not think I have to explain to the waiters same as babies that rum cola is a cocktail… I tried to kee my cool and put it on the language barrier which was extremely obvious and asked them to change the price from individually to the mixed drink from the menu. They refused, so I also refused to pay the whole bill. They threatened with calling the police and I sat there waiting for them to do that with the hope that police would understand the issue.

Police did not come, but the waiter said: alright, you will pay what you said (a bill 10.5€ less) and threatened they will call the police after because they made a picture of us with their CCTV cameras and we will have problems at the airport….. i felt like talkinng to a 5 year old kid at that point so we paid what we consumed, took our bags and left.

close to some hotels and city center quite some varieties of food and drinks you can rent towels and beds

no customer experience what so ever food is fine but really overpriced for the quality drinks are made from the cheapest alcohol (our rum cola did not even taste like rum, but more like vodka).

They would have more clients and better reviews if they would pay more attention to customer needs and their...

One of the staff (male, kinda tall and slim, with beard) is a HUGE RACIST! If you happen to be Asian, I doubt you would like it as there’s possibility that you will be treated LIKE SHT! Me and my spouse booked two beach benches with umbrella from the lady manager from at the reception who confirmed we could stay till 7:30pm. However around 6:40, this terrible male staff only asked us to leave in an extremely rude manner saying the place was closed while THERE WERE STILL GROUPS OF OTHER CUSTOMERS AROUND WHO HAPPENED TO BE CAUCASIANS. After confirming with the lady manager together that we were allowed to stay longer, we got back to our benches and the male staff immediately took away our mattress WHILE OTHERS CAN STILL KEEP THEIRS. Also, we were at the front row and wanted to move our benches a little bit forward so we could be shadowed by the umbrella, which was rudely rejected by this person even though we told him we would move it back when we leave. All these shts happened while other people were still enjoying their benches with mattress FOR AT LEAST ANOTHER HALF AN HOUR. He never asked anyone else but us, the only Asian customers at that time, to leave or took their mattress. Apparently we were targeted, probably because of our skin colour or otherwise we cannot think of any other reasons as we never talked to this person until he approached us and treated us in a horrible attitude with no reason. The lady manger was fine, who apologized and offered us a drink. We didn’t take any apart from a bottle of water, as a gesture of apology but that was not what we wanted. It’s just that nobody shouldn’t be treated that way. We just hope the business owner/manager could educate the staff to show respect to customers regardless of their race...

We walked in and asked if there were any sun beds available. The elderly woman running the establishment said “you wait here”. Then we stood there like lemons for 15 mins before realising she had no intention of doing anything with us or updating us about what was happening. Yes, at this point we should have realised the service here was terrible and gone elsewhere, so we are partly to blame.

Anyway, we pushed the issue and another man (not the elderly woman running the establishment who seemed to have no interest in speaking to us anymore) said “there will be sunbeds available at some point”. At some point? Very helpful. Eventually we managed to get them to tell us it would be a 30 minute wait. And we could wait in the tables for drinks, and they would tell us when two sunbeds became available. After waiting there for 45 minutes we realised no one had any intention of updating us about the sunbed situation and they had forgotten about us entirely.

The saving grace of this dreadful experience was a young blonde waitress who when we told we had been waiting for a sunbed for a long time, she actually seemed to be the first person who was remotely interested in actually helping us. She kept us updated for the next 45 mins as to the situation and eventually she got us two sunbeds.

This place has absolutely no organisation and the management seem to be more customer anti-service than customer service. I will not be frequenting this...

I don’t care how long this place has existed or how legendary it claims to be; the information on their own website and what the lady at the entrance says doesn’t match. The website states that a day on the beach with a deckchair, parasol, and mattress is included for €25.00, but in reality, only the first row gets mattresses. In that case, correct the information regarding what a half-day at the beach entails and how long you are allowed to leave the beach and return to your paid spot. The reception by the older woman who greets customers is beyond criticism; she has probably lost the touch of working in tourism. Simply put, she is rude. It’s not about money in the end; it’s about correct information and proper treatment. Own up to your mistakes and don’t argue when you provide incomplete information. I don’t know if the behavior displayed by the staff is due to stress, understaffing, or organizational work environment issues, but often when there are so few staff members, it indicates such problems. This results in making the place less attractive to guests, as it negatively impacts the overall experience. The place itself, in my opinion, is the least best option—worse sunbeds and umbrellas, fewer staff for service and orders. A plus is the middle-aged female hostess who shows customers where to sit. She offers a smile with a calm and composed attitude, making you feel like a valued paying guest.

Two benches 46 Euros, umbrella included but no towels. Even more expensive to be in the front row. You can't go and come back to your benches and only one of us could go at a time. No food allowed have to buy everything from the restaurant. This is why I only give two stars. I recommend the public areas where you can go and come as like, for refreshments to this restaurant or elsewhere in the neighborhood. The reception was a dull employee. One English speaking staffmember was nice. Ok, then I had lunch at the restaurante and that was okey. Nice view watching other people at the beach, food okey, service ok, jolly two waiters and nice until I said no, when the waiter asked for tips- see bill. 2-3 stars. Emma said a month ago "Service was unfriendly...I was greeted at the door by the hostess (an older woman) .....Strange way to greet a guest." That is what I experianced but the same lady whas later the same day very nice to other people. So maybe just grompy in the morning🤣

I recently spent a day at Opéra Plage, and it was a truly memorable experience. The beach, while rocky, offers a unique charm and stunning views. The clear blue waters were absolutely inviting, creating a picturesque setting for relaxation. The beach was impeccably clean, making it easy to find a comfortable spot to lounge. The atmosphere struck a lovely balance between vibrant and peaceful, perfect for unwinding. I also indulged in some of the food offerings, and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality. Each dish was fresh and delicious, adding to the enjoyment of my beach day. The service was another highlight; the staff was attentive and genuinely friendly, ensuring that all my needs were met without being intrusive. Overall, Opéra Plage is a fantastic destination for anyone looking to enjoy a rocky beach day with great food and excellent service. I can't wait to return!
