Pizzeria chez Toto — Restaurant in Nice

When I say 5 stars, I don't mean intergalactic Michelin stars or drop everything and leg it to this pizzeria but it does mean that these pizzas pretty gosh darn delicious.

We ordered 30 minutes before we picked them up, they weren't as warm as we'd like but we were late on picking them up. There was banter in English and French, my translater girlfriend assured me all was pleasant lovely.

Quick pick up, quick pay, left and then remembered that people mentioned a spicy oil. I asked, he presented the home made spicy oil and dribbled it all over.

I like some spice, going to an Indian I will almost enjoy the spiciest dishes (almost). This oil was not spicy in that kind of way, it heated the back of my mouth and my partner, who can almost eat enjoy the least spicy dish on an Indian menu, also enjoyed it.

Chez Toto is one of those rare places that instantly makes you feel at home. It’s one of the very few pizzerias in Nice that genuinely caters for vegans, offering a lovely selection of creative, flavourful vegan pizzas made with care and top-quality ingredients.

The owner and pizzaiolo is incredibly passionate and welcoming — you can truly see how much love and attention he puts into every detail, from the dough to the toppings. Each pizza feels crafted, not just made.

While it’s mainly a takeaway spot, there are two small tables outside where we enjoyed our dinner in a friendly atmosphere.

By far one of the best pizza we’ve ever had. The chef was kind and friendly, he communicated well with us and ensured we got the right pizza I wanted.

The chef also asked if we wanted to try the homemade oil which was delicious.

We also ordered one tiramisu which tasted amazing as well. It was very fragrant and we enjoyed every bite we took.
