Emotional rollercoaster of a meal đą
The setting: Early evening. Not too busy (a few empty tables).
Ordered fine.
Apps (good greek salad đ) and 1 main arrive in a reasonable time.
Nothing else arrives for +30 min. We ask about it since one of the mains already came. They say in a few minutes.
Nothing arrives for another 15 min. We ask again.
Another 10min. We're annoyed. 2 group members have to leave soon. We're still waiting.
One of the waiters/managers/idk asks me to come to the inner part of the restaurant. I can't call what happened next a conversation because I don't think he ever stopped yelling. He said they can't turn out dishes in 2min because this isn't a kebab place (kebab places have never hurt me like this). In between his tantrum I was able to tell him it's been over an hour and to just bring out our food already and he agreed.
Food comes out. Pizza is ok. Pasta is what I'm calling "advanced aldente" but some would just say undercooked.
They brought an extra that no one ordered and totally missed 1 dish. But on the plus side it confirmed our suspicion that they just forgot our order at the beginning.
They kindly agreed to just pack the last order to go.
The upswing: They gave a generous discount on our final bill. Some might avoid the word generous and instead call it "the least they could do". Who's to say? The yelling guy seemed apologetic at the end.
Anyway if you're looking for a nice meal, there's a great kebab place a few blocks north...
Read moreThis place lacks a lot. We ordered 4 dishes. One of them arrived wrong, which is why the others started eating. The right food came quickly, but after a short time we found a big moth in the salad. The moth was dead and wet (with dressing). We asked the waitress (I think the manager) about it, she was afraid to take the plate away because she was afraid of the moth. She came back promptly and had ONLY TAKEN THE SALAD FROM THE PLATE. I didn't touch the plate and she asked if there was a problem. She couldn't understand why I didn't have an appetite because it was "just a butterfly" that probably flew onto the plate during the meal. When the food came I took a picture of the plate. In the photo you can see the moth directly. When asked about this, she simply said, "What should I do with this information now?" After some discussion, a waitress brought us the bill right away and we were apparently...
Read moreI recently dined at Saint Amour, and I must say it was a highly disappointing experience. I ordered a dish that cost a staggering 60 euros, expecting something truly exceptional. However, what I received was far from it. The portion size was shockingly small, barely enough to satisfy a child, let alone an adult paying such a high price. The disparity between the price and the quantity served is outrageous and feels like an outright scam. I felt completely ripped off and left the restaurant still hungry and thoroughly unsatisfied. For 60 euros,2 person, you would expect a dish that not only tastes good but also has a decent portion size. Unfortunately, this was not the case here.I would strongly advise against dining at Saint Amour if you value your money. This place seems more interested in emptying your wallet than providing a worthwhile...
