Roi Alexandre Nice — Restaurant in Nice

After three weeks in Europe, my taste buds were waving little white flags and begging for something homey. So imagine my joy when I found a Russian restaurant in Nice! 🎉

The food? A solid 3.5 stars. The borscht was mostly potatoes with a surprise cameo by meat—I'm pretty sure someone just chopped them in there freestyle 😹. The dumpling dough was tearing like my willpower at a pastry shop, but hey, it was still tasty.

We tried the beef stroganoff with buckwheat, which was so much (guys, have you seen how much buckwheat is? 😂

Now, the herring under a fur coat? It's not bad at all. A couple of days later, I ordered it again for takeout, and they definitely didn’t hold back on the onions 🙀. As for the honey cake, it was a bit too soggy, but still eatable.

Esperienza terribile Io ed il mio gruppo di amici abbiamo deciso di trascorrere il capodanno a Nizza e abbiamo prenotato in questo ristorante. Al momento della prenotazione siamo stati informati che il menu includeva antipasto, secondo, dolce e bevande a buffet e che il nostro tavolo Sarebbe stato separato dagli altri. Al nostro arrivo al ristorante inizia l’avventura: eravamo sul tavolo insieme ad altre persone a noi sconosciute; iniziano ad arrivare le diverse portate ( non abbiamo avuto alcuna possibilità di scelta come ci era stato detto in precedenza) insieme al vino se così può essere chiamato dato che era praticamente aceto. Non avendo calici per bere il vino (che non abbiamo bevuto perché indecente) ci siamo rivolti al personale affinché ce li portasse Ci era stato detto inoltre che il menu prevedeva vino e 1 bottiglia di champagne che chiaramente non è arrivato. Vengono portate al tavolo anche diverse bottiglie di acqua, tra cui anche una brocca contenente acqua di rubinetto ( in totale 4 acque ) Al momento dell’ antipasto troviamo subito un capello in un piatto ma decidiamo di non dare troppo peso all’accaduto. Terminata la prima portata, arriva il secondo, peccato però che avevamo sotto ancora i piatti sporchi dell’antipasto: abbiamo chiesto al personale che ha impiegato circa 20 minuti per portarne altri puliti. Terminata questa “splendida” cena, ordiniamo i caffè convinti che fossero inclusi nel menu che abbiamo pagato ben 100€ a testa Purtroppo non abbiamo dovuto pagare solo i caffè (3€ ognuno!!!!!) ma anche le bottiglie d’acqua ( 8€ A BOTTIGLIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) The ambiente was alright, but very steamy and high humidity (the windows were cloudy). I usually am a great fan of georgian wine, but here it was a little sour and expensive for a small cup (7 euros) The starters were tasty und well presented. Best part of our experience.
