We were looking for some Asian food in the Parisian neighbourhood we stayed in. Au Vietnam was conveniently located near our apartment and we decided to give it a try.
It's a cozy family run restaurant run by a mother and daughter, with grandmom providing service too. We walked in, were immediately seated and provided a menu in English and offered service in English as well.
We ordered several dishes including beef pho, chicken pho, beef bo-bun and curry chicken noodles (made with coconut milk).
All were delicious and tasted homemade! The pho soup was clear and tasty, and really hit the spot. It had a wonderfully deep flavour. Portion size is smaller compared to North American Vietnamese restaurants, but you won't leave hungry. Served with fresh bean sprouts, lime, Thai basil and other fresh herbs. We felt the noodles were more al-dente than we are used to.
Beef bo-bun was served warm with local herbs - it was delicious! Curry chicken noodles were wonderful too - but it does have coconut milk which can be polarizing for some, but authentic Viet curry.
You can't go wrong visiting this family run restaurant, service was quick and polite. It's a really friendly neighbourhood restaurant that seems well-loved by the locals eating...

it’s rare these days to find a Vietnamese restaurant which is still very generous when giving herbs. My Bahn Xeo came plentiful and the owner (+ the cook) taught me how to eat it properly Vietnamese style :)
it’s such a homey, simple place, with homecooked meal without any pretentious additions. the lady is also very friendly, she seems to know all the other customers who came after me.
next time I come to Paris, hopefully I can make the time to...

The Mango Salad was Great and the banh xeo was extra crispy!! The vietnamese iced coffee was the best i had in a Long time. I will miss the coffee!! Thank you for having us and I surely will come back once im in...
