La Verrière PARIS — Restaurant in Paris

Such a big disappointment in a city that prides itself on providing unforgettable culinary experiences. Some might still call the experience unforgettable, but for all the wrong reasons:

The Positives:

Despite us coming late, seating was rapid Staff were friendly enough overall Food was mostly pretty tasty, with standout desserts and fresh seafood Music playlist was exceptional and really set the mood Plates were cleared very quickly Clean bathrooms

The Negatives:

Once seated, it took nearly ten minutes for them to give us champagne and explain the setup, which made no sense given it was less than half full. Service was lacking: there were too many overbearing servers. My idea of exemplary service is far more than just being smiley/welcoming. It's predictive, efficient and non-intrsuive. There were several times when I felt the staff here missed the mark. Location was poor, way too far out from the city centre considering what was on offer. Poor value for money: an absolute SCAM. Despite the higher price point (well over €100/person, which they insisted I prepay) the variety was grossly lacking. Only one type of juice was offered, the hot food buffet was meagre at best (my photo shows all the options available bar the risotto and the seabass), no salads outside of a 'kimchi' one (that many Koreans would no doubt find insulting given how badly it missed the mark), only two desserts, two types of pastry... I've gone to hotel buffets half the price with double the selection. Considering this was a Christmas buffet that boasted gourmet food options (their words, not mine), I was incredibly underwhelmed. Compared to their regular Brunch buffet this one is so much worse so why were we charged so much more? Daylight robbery, nothing more, nothing less.

To add insult to injury, on top of spending all that money, I found out that the water I had been initially offered was not only outside of the scope of the buffet inclusions, but was €7. They did not tell me this was the case, nor was it indicated at any point. The lack of transparency was very off-putting. Had I been informed, I wouldn't have touched it with a barge pole!

They then had the audacity to throw over half of it away, all the while knowing I'd paid for it. They ended up chasing me down the road for the €7, even after I'd clearly indicated I was leaving which should have been their cue to hand me the bill, instead of sprinting after me like I was a common criminal. Pitiful service all round.

On top of cancelling my Boxing Day reservation a week before the date without so much as a call, there was no way I could give this more than 1 star. Truly isn't worth it. Spend half the money somewhere in the city centre for a much...

This restaurant does not appear to be 'foreigners' friendly or know what customer service really is about.

Last night (30/07/2019) I had to witness how a French customer approached another couple and accused them of being loud and annoying. The guy asked her if she was American, and when she said no he then blurted out "You sound like one, you're loud and annoying and I'm moving tables thanks to you".

They were not loud, the whole restaurant (apart from this racist specimen) was really quiet, had there been any grass inside you would probably hear it grow...

What bothered me the most is that the staff didn't offer any kind of apology. Naturally, they can't respond for the disgusting behaviour of some people, if you can call them that, but they could have said something to the couple, the lady was clearly and incredibly upset, and with reason. You just don't expect this type of manners in such a "posh and sophisticated" atmosphere.

I really hope this was a 'one time' incident because tolerating this behaviour in this time and age is simply unacceptable. I frankly find it disturbing that they condone this, especially having the picture of an Asian woman as a chef on the main page of their website.

I personally won't be coming again to this restaurant nor will be recommending it to my acquaintances.

As you may have guessed, I'm not French either, which is why I feel particularly aggravated.

To the manager of this establishment: Train your supervisory staff in common sense and human decency. It only takes a few weeks of them working as regular servers to learn this.

Nous voulions un brunch qui nous permettrait de nous dépayser en plein coeur de Paris et savourer de bons mets. Et bien nous avons été servis. Le lieu est magnifique à l'identique des photos sous une magnifique verriere, dans un cadre magnifique. Je ne vais pas arrêter dutiliser le terme magnifique car cest le seul terme qui convient. Nous sommes accueillis et installés par un personnel tres professionel et souriant, toujours au petit soin. Un service impeccable, rien à dire seulement magnifique. Je finis par le principal, des plats fins, savoureux, raffinés, goûteux et magnifiquement présentés. Le seul problème cest de choisir car tout à lair bon et tout ce que jai mangé était délicieux et jai pratiquement tout goûter. L'équilibre entre les deux pays est magnifiquement fait. Je recommande et reviendrait cela c'est sûr pour le faire aussi découvrir à d'autres personnes. Avec une cuisine ouverte on voit le personnel en pleine action. De plus le lieu est de taille humaine ce qui est parfait car on est dans une atmosphère intime. Je recommande à 200 % en ayant conscience que cela va donner vraiment aux gens envie d'aller decouvrir ce magnifique lieu, je vais vite y retourner alors..... un rapport qualité/ prix très correct par rapport au cadre et mets dégustés...

2eme visite le 29/09/2019 Bonjour Après un 1er tres bon brunch dans cette établissement, jai voulu revenir en famille pour leur faire decouvrir. Le lieu est toujours magnifique, les plats toujours aussi délicieux et variés. Des plats de bases d'un brunch, des oeufs brouillés en passant par le saumon, des plats spécifiques, des plats chauds viandes, poissons, pommes se terres, pâtes et mention spéciale pour les légumes magnifiquement bons. Les croissants sont toujours excellents. Au niveau des desserts, jai préféré les desserts de ma 1ere visite dans cette établissement mais il y a un enorme choix de desserts. Je mets une excellente note à l'environnement et les plats.

Je suis revenu le 23 avril 2022 avec 2 personnes pour un brunch le samedi, même après ma petite mésaventure de la dernière fois que je mets sur le ton d'un point negatif exceptionnel qui ne reflète pas l'agréable moment que l'on peut passer dans ce lieu, jai donc retiré mon commentaire négatif. Et bien toujours aussi délicieux. Le buffet est magnifique comme à son habitude autant du côté sucré que salé. Le plat principal est suculent, nous avons pris du Lieu, un produit qui fondait en bouche. Il y a vraiment du choix entre la charcuterie, les fromages, les délicieuses verrines, les plats chauds, les mini clubs sandwich, le saumon. La liste est tellement longue que la difficulté est de choisir. Les desserts sont aussi importants par le grand choix. Jai adoré la crème brûlée et le tiramisu en passant par la magnifique gaufre. Le plus dur est de choisir encoreune fois. Tout est parfaitement présenté. De plus, le buffet est régulièrement réapprovisionné donc chacun peut manger à son rythme. Le lieu est toujours aussi agréable et propre, très haut standing. Concernant le service, nous voulons remercier principalement Mohammed qui a su faire en sorte que nous passions une après-midi parfaite. Professionnel, souriant, au petit soin, nous avions l'impression d'être des personnes VIP. Il était toujours là pour nous orienter, faire en sorte d'anticiper nos besoins. Il a su bien représenter le haut standing du lieux. Grâce à lui, je remets la note de 5 et un pourboire et nous avons été réconciliés avec l'un des meilleurs brunch de Paris même si nous ne pouvons ne pas revenir car le brunch est succulent et le personnel très agréable, professionnel.
