Very good Thai food in a nice atmosphere, with friendly service. We went for dinner at the last minute following a canceled flight. The drinks were good, including the Thai Mule cocktail. The food was very good, but “spicy” is a relative term in Paris since most French people have zero tolerance for hot chilis. As someone who loves hot chili and grows peppers as a hobby, it was not spicy in my opinion, even the dishes labeled as spicy. The fried calamari starter was okay but not great because the batter was on the heavy side for me. The chicken dumplings were great and wish we had ordered two. The beef salad was very nice, with great flavor. The green curry had some spice, and was tasty. The red shrimp curry was delicious and mildly spicy. The papaya salad side dish was a nice palate cleanser. My only complaint would be the rice is not included with curry. They should charge more for the curry and include rice, but I don’t understand why you have to order it and pay 4 euro when I’ve never had curry without rice anywhere else in the world. I didn’t mind the cost, it’s the principle. You would expect to buy a burger and pay extra for the bun, or get the bolognese and pay extra for the noodles. We spent over 250 euros with the wine we ordered, so again it wasn’t that I was bothered by the cost of the rice, more the idea that it wasn’t part of the dish when it should be.
Service was good, but not great. We had to flag someone anytime we wanted anything rather than them checking on us periodically after...
Read moreIt is not worth going out of your way to eat here. We made a 7:00 reservation, arrived at 6:45 to a completely empty restaurant, and they wouldn’t seat us or even serve us a drink in the lobby or terrace while we waited. When we were sat, we were one of only two tables in the whole place, and they sat us right next to the host stand and the outside door. Worst table in the restaurant, and no reason for us to be sat there when the place is empty. Our server was clueless about the food. The food was marginal at best. The soft shell crab was super overcooked with burnt batter. The shrimp entree had way too much breading. The papaya salad was half shredded carrots and had no fish sauce in it at all; it had soy sauce. It was also not spicy and we weren’t asked how spiced we would like it which is the classic way to serve papaya salad. The pad Thai was fine, but it had caramelized onions in it which is weird, inauthentic, and too sweet. This place is riding on its ambiance; it’s all aesthetic and no substance. There were only 4 cocktails on their menu and they couldn’t make us anything else; I’m pretty sure those cocktails were batched out in advance and not fresh made. This food is Thai for white people, and does a disservice to a vibrant culture. I would never go here again. The space is beautiful and the terrace is pretty, but it’s not worth it for unfriendly, inaccurate service and...

I had the pleasure of dining at Bambou in Paris and was thoroughly impressed by the flavorsome cuisine. The only downside was that the wine selection was not the best. However, the friendly staff and cozy ambiance more than made up for it.
The menu at Bambou offers a great range of dishes that are expertly prepared and beautifully presented. From the succulent chicken to the perfectly cooked seafood, each dish was a delight for the senses. The service was top-notch, with attentive and knowledgeable waitstaff who were always on hand to answer any questions.
What makes Bambou special is its hidden gem status - tucked away from the main tourist areas, this restaurant offers an authentic Parisian dining experience with a unique and cozy ambiance that you won't find anywhere else.
While the wine selection could be improved, the rest of the dining experience more than made up for it.
Overall, I had a fantastic dining experience at Bambou and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and flavorsome dining experience in Paris. I left feeling satisfied and grateful for the opportunity to experience such a hidden gem. I would definitely consider returning...
