I have been here before, so I was sure it would be a good experience but it's wasn't. We were a party of five(4 adults, 1 child), made a reservation on Sunday night. It was my husband's birthday and we wanted to enjoy a peaceful, not-fancy but fulfilling meal. We ordered two starters to share, one of them was loaded nachos which is probably a main course dish as per the restaurant AND 5 main courses, some drinks of course. The place was almost full. We received the drinks and a complementary amuse bouche. Starter 1 and Main course 1(enchilada vegetarian)arrived first after some wait. For another 10-15 minutes, nothing else from the remaining order came. I asked the serveuse about the remaining order. Her response was that everything will come one by one, in a not so polite tone. We understood that everything is taking longer than expected, so we asked her if we can cancel the other starter, to which she said it won't be possible as its been made already. After some time Starter 2 and main course 2,3,4 arrived. We started eating as everyone was hungry. I didn't receive my main course, so I mostly ate the second starter which was the loaded nachos. Another 10 minutes went by and we dint even dare to ask them abt the one missing main. During our whole stay, the other serveuse kept bringing to go parcels which were for uber eats or another service. After abt 15 minutes, our serveuse decided to ask if everything was ok. We told her we still don't have one main dish, she asked the kitchen and told us that it will come in 5 minutes. It dint come for over 10 minutes and by then everyone else finished their meal. When the dish came, I had lost my appetite. I told them I don't want it, they can charge me for it but I don't want to eat it. She went back to check for an explanation in her system. She came back to apologize and tell us that the main dish that came early was bcoz somehow the kitchen understood it to be a starter. But she had no explanation for why a main dish is missing. She offered to pack it for us and not charge us but I told her that an enchilada with melted cheese on top cannot be eaten cold as a takeaway(probably the reason why they don't have it on their uber eats menu)
My whole point in writing this super long review is that I believe someone would read it and try to understand what went wrong and fix it. If you decide to stay open on a Sunday, and are also accepting orders from other platforms, you have to ensure you have enough staff to cater to the customers are sitting in the restaurant. I love your food but I don't know if I will visit again after this experience. I LEFT WITHOUT...
Read moreWe must have had an off night at the restaurant as we visited here based on the good rating and reviews on google but I just want to share my honest experience.
The restaurant looks amazing and inviting from the outside but unfortunately after that nearly all aspects were a downside.
I should note that we visited during a heatwave in Paris and a while a lot of the city isnt prepared/built for this, Burritos Hermanos definitely is not either. There was an a/c unit running inside but did not make a difference at all, it was very hot & stuffy inside and the a/c unit was making an insufferable sound through our whole dining experience. The restaurant would be much better off just leaving doors and windows open for fresh air if they’re not prepared to address the broken A/C.
Unfortunately, the hot temperature was not the only downside to the feel and vibe of the restaurant. While we were handed menus immediately we were not offered drinks/water for at least 10 minutes (in house restaurant not busy) and not served said drinks for another following 10-15 minutes, without ice, in a stinking hot restaurant.
To be fair the waitress (appeared to be the owner) was trying hard and was nice but was clearly out of her depth and short on staff & we could feel the painfully awkward tension between her and the kitchen downstairs, this was evident through a very loud slamming door stemming from the down stairs kitchen and angry sounding conversation between said floors.
I dont like to say this either but feel the need to be fair to google review readers, but the food needs a major overhaul as well. The food did not feel/taste ‘fresh’ but felt more like the Mexican you’d want for munchies in 2006, it wasn’t horrible but it was nowhere near good either sorry.
Constructive criticism;
Please please supply your patrons with at least cold water within 5 minutes of seating
you NEED more floor staff, I feel sorry for the main waitress, she seemed so stressed and exhausted.
While on noise, please, find some cool & new Mexican tunes and turn the volume up - someone please think of the atmosphere 🙏
refine your cocktail list
🙏 fix the constantly slamming (fridge?) door downstairs - so jarring
Nachos need a huge rebirthing
Fix (& prioritise) A/C - very uncomfortable in there
best wishes and hope this...
Read moreSo happy to finally go into a Mexican restaurant that actually makes authentic Mexican food! Been waiting 15 years! I had eaten good Mexican all my life until moving to France. Haha I tried a few restaurants and understood why no one wanted me to fix Mexican food for them. I finally made some and didn't tell them what they were eating. After they tasted it, and loved it. So, I know what I'm saying, you need to come and taste the food! You will be pleasantly surprised. I will be happy to see how the menu grows over time.
I give one caution, if you are not used to hot spices always ask, first about the dish. I am sure a spoonful can be...
