IF I COULD GIVE THIS PLACE ZERO STARS I WOULD. Do not go here, this place RUINED our trip.
We ordered our food but it seemed that it was taking longer than expected (not a busy hour, and how long can it take to make an omelet?) When we asked the waiter to check on our food, it arrived COLD which means it had been sitting on the counter undelivered to us for some time. When we told the waiter he reluctantly said he would heat it, but by his attitude we could see we would not be getting clean food. So I said I refuse to eat it, they said it was not their fault for giving cold food if they offered to reheat it. What kind of logic is this??? Not even offering to make a fresh one, he said he would just put it in the microwave. I asked to have it canceled and that I would only pay for our drinks, but the waiters got upset (they were very intimidating, and I am a small woman) we had to pay anyways, which I did! Because I did not have time and couldn’t be bothered to argue further. Up to that moment, fine whatever, it’s what happened next that was scary and alarming.
I took photos of the restaurant so I could have evidence, and the waiters started getting more upset, even though I had done nothing illegal, I had paid for a meal we did not even touch because it was cold. I walked away from the restaurant to our nearby hotel, AND ONE OF THE WAITERS FOLLOWED ME TO THE HOTEL AND THREATENED TO CALL THE POLICE ON ME (for taking photos?? Since when is that illegal??) I paid for everything even though it was the worst place we had been to in Paris, and I have done nothing wrong or illegal. If anything I SHOULD BE THE ONE calling the police on him for stalking me to the hotel. And I should call a lawyer for threatening me.

Read moreOur hotel was just around the corner and I am sure they offered a nice breakfast, but Mum and I decided to find a place outside to enjoy the Parisians and Parisian lifestyle. We found it here.
True, almost every crossroad has a café with a red shopfront and sunscreen and walking through Paris this often caused confusion as to where we were. But this café really stood out and it was mostly because of the friendly waiter. The food was good. Croissants, for some reason, just taste better in France. Freshly sqeeuzed juice and a nice pot of Thé a la Menthe (still can't pronounce it) and some toast with jam. Solid breakfast for us and at a decent price. It was the waiter who made the experience great. He made us feel welcome and his English was really good. The second morning he still remembered our order and it was a total déja vu of the previous day. Should we ever go back to Paris, we will come back here and hope to see the waiter again. He made our holiday even better than it...
Read moreDuring our time in Paris, Christmas 2013, we visited many cafes. We found Cafe de l'Olympia and immediately felt very welcome and comfortable. I don't speak French, wish I did, but they weren't bothered in the least. The food and drink were all quite delicious! Of course, being tourists, we kept trying other places to eat. Each time, we were disappointed and felt that we should have gone back to l'Olympia. Miriam and Stan were so happy to see us and provided the best service. In Texas, we are accustomed to attentive waitstaff, but most places we travel to fall short. Cafe de l'Olympia made these Texans feel right at home! Everything we tried was great. Get the Burger, the steak, the Croque Madame, the Banana Nutella Crepes. If it's cold, get the Grog. The Chablis is wonderful. They even make a really good Margarita!
Out of all the amazing things we saw and did in Paris, the dining at Cafe de l'Olympia was some of our...
