Definitely wouldn't recommend this place to anybody - even worse, if you're a tourist. The main waiter (maybe he's also the owner) is an extremely rude man who comes across as a bit of an intimidating bully, and thinks customers are desperately queuing up to try out his restaurant. I do pity his staff.
We had to wait close to 30 minutes only to get him to come to our table to give us the menu, and he didn't even offer a drinks menu, but instead made some 'wise' cracks. He does think his comments are funny, but I'm not sure many would agree with him.
If you want to see a bit of Paris and enter this cafe (which I really hope you don't), you're going to end up wasting many precious hours, eat horrible food, and pay high prices for F grade service.
The food was disgustingly greasy and soaked with oil. If you don't know what's 'Croque Monsieur/Madame', it really isn't anything special - it is simply sliced white bread, toasted with cheese and ham (and an egg), served with a few leaves, and costs almost 14 Euro.
Avoid this place at all costs and spend your time and money elsewhere!
...and he then tries to say that this is the wrong establishment. This is the same Café du Cadran in Opéra. Admit it, lower your ego, and stop being rude to your customers instead of telling people to remove...
Read moreI don't usually visit places without checking reviews carefully to avoid disappointments, however I randomly chose this place mainly because it was too cold outside. I visited with some friends, and we were greeted by what a very rude waiter rushing us to order and when we weren't sure what to order yet, he mocked us and said ok clearly you don't know what to order. My friends and I ordered fries, an onion soup, a mixed cheese plate and some glasses of wine. I am not sure which one was worse, the food lacked flavor and texture. The cheese seemed to be of very low quality, since I am able to buy better quality in a basic supermarket. The waiter served one of my friends two forks instead of a fork and a knife as shown in the picture, a proof of how careless the service was. Run from this place...
Read moreDisappointing Lunch Experience We visited this restaurant for lunch. After receiving the menu, we waited about 15 minutes without anyone coming to take our order. We had to call someone over. During the wait, we noticed other tables getting bread and water, but we didn’t receive either. When our food finally arrived, it wasn’t hot and lacked flavor. To make matters worse, we later learned there was a "menu of the day" that NO ONE mentioned. What bothered us most was seeing a server take leftover bread from one table and serve it to a new customer. We’re not sure if this is common in Paris, but it didn’t seem hygienic. We would have been fine not getting bread, especially not bread that’s been touched by others. Overall, it was a disappointing experience, and we won’t be...
